Media Prima Gains Momentum

Media Prima Bhd’s revenue for 2QFY17 grew by 21% against the immediate preceding quarter (1QFY17) as core advertising revenue started to gain momentum after a slow start earlier in the year. 

Media Prima, Malaysia’s leading fully-integrated media Group, announced its second quarter results for the financial period ended 30 June 2017 (“2QFY17”).

Bina Puri Holdings Bhd through it’s unit, Bina Puri Holdings (Thailand) Co Ltd clinched a THB250,597,369 (equivalent to RM 35.03 million) contract to construct the planned “I’m Fine Condominium”, a unique development concept at Bangna-Trad Road, Bangkok, Thailand.

The agreement was signed between Bina Puri Holdings (Thailand) Ltd and WNC Construction Co. Ltd. Joint Venture with the developer, Fine 22 Properties Company Limited and Ya Thai Chemical Co. Ltd. Joint Venture.

Maybank said that its Group loan-to-deposit ratio (LDR) is at a comfortable level of 94.7% as at end March 2017 and not 101% as stated in a Bloomberg report released Friday 11 August 2017.

Maybank Group Chief Financial Officer Datuk Amirul Feisal Wan Zahir said that the news article and the Malaysian banking analyst research report it quoted, did not give a true picture of Maybank’s careful management of its assets and liabilities.

SIRIM, the country’s premier research and technology organisation under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), last week organised a seminar on Food Innovation and Global Trends to support and assist local food industry to better understand the future of the food industry. 

More than 200 participants from food and beverage industry, research institutions, higher education institutions, government and private sector agencies were exposed to various topics on food innovation, halal, food processing technology, innovation networks and global trends of the future of food.

AirAsia, the world’s best low-cost airline today welcomed its inaugural flight from Shenzhen to Langkawi with 89 percent load factor last week.

The flight AK 1713 was greeted by a water canon salute upon arrival into Langkawi International Airport and was also received by Datuk Azizan Noordin, Chief Executive Officer, Langkawi Development Authority (LADA).

Malaysia’s exports of rubber gloves in the first six months of 2017 (January – June) reported an impressive 25% increase to reach RM7.95 billion compared to RM5.28 billion from the same period in 2016.

Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities, YB Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong revealed this when he convened a special roundtable meeting with leaders from rubber industry to seek their combined opinions on measures to further boost rubber glove industry’s contribution to Malaysian economy.

Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) or better known as Malaysia Healthcare, today signed a partnership agreement with NCH Consumer Healthcare from Bangladesh, for patient referrals to Malaysia. 

As the market of healthcare traveler spending from Bangladesh to Malaysia is increasing, with a growth of 34% in 2016 from 2015, MHTC is eager to leverage on NCH Consumer Healthcare vast network to expand their horizon and presence in the second largest city in the country, Chittagong, which has over 2.5 million population.

The Vice-Chancellor of UUM, Prof. Datuk Seri Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak, attended a Yasin recitation and prayer ceremony held in conjunction with the opening of the Langkawi outlet of Manager's Coffee at the Kuah jetty, last Friday.

The Yasin recitation was led by 40 students from the Quranic school, Maahad Tahfiz Darul Amar, Langkawi.
