IJM Corporation Bhd launched an Innovation Lab in its Petaling Jaya headquarters last week. The Innovation Lab serves as a platform to nurture a culture of innovation among its employees and to develop and execute value-driven breakthrough ideas for the company, customers as well as the various industries IJM serves.
The spearheading of the lab underscores a thrust identified in IJM’s strategic roadmap to drive innovation and intrapreneurship in the workplace – by building the right innovation culture, accelerating digital adoption, providing multiple platforms for collaboration and running skillset training through accelerator programmes.
The Rice Straw Project under the Bioeconomy Community Development Programme (BCDP) is expected to enhance to the growth of high-value biodegradable products in Malaysia while promoting the country’s environmental sustainability and advancement of green technology.
The project is overseen by Malaysian Bioeconomy Development Corporation (Bioeconomy Corporation) and involves a 10-year agreement signed between BioNexus Status company Free The Seed Sdn Bhd and Pertubuhan Peladang Kawasan Pendang Selatan (PPKPS).
Weifang Sime Darby Port Co. Ltd. launched its liquid terminal on 9 August, expanding its range of services to provide storage and usage of terminal facilities for bulk oil and chemicals at the port.
The ceremony was held at the new Weifang Sime Darby Liquid Terminal, witnessed by the Deputy Mayor of Weifang City, Wang Shu Hua, the Director of Management Committee of Weifang Binhai Economic and Technological Development Zone Zhang Heng Dao, the Chairman of the Dragon Crown Group Raymond Ng Wai Man, and the Managing Director of Sime Darby Logistics Timothy Lee Chi Tim.
Bumi Armada Berhad’s wholly owned subsidiary Bumi Armada Caspian LLC has signed a supplementary agreement with LUKOIL-Nizhnevolzhskneft LLC for additional Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation scope.
The additional scope will involve Bumi Armada’s Subsea Construction assets to lay subsea pipelines and undertake post trenching and back-filling works on sections of the Filanovsky field in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea. The works are expected to be completed in the second half of 2018 and the total contract value is USD134 million (approximately RM576 million).
