TDM Berhad ("TDM" or the "Group"), together with its subsidiaries TDM Plantation Sdn Bhd (TDMP) and KMI Kuala Terengganu Medical Centre (KMI Kuala Terengganu), proudly received the Best Employer Award recognition at the KWSP Terengganu Best Employer Awards 2024, held yesterday at Duyong Marina & Resorts, Terengganu. This accolade highlights TDM commitment to creating a sustainable and inclusive workplace, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), particularly SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
Organized by the Terengganu division of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), the awards aim to recognize exemplary employers who implement best practices in human resources and foster a positive work environment. This recognition reflects TDM Group’s continuous efforts to prioritize employee welfare, which enhances productivity and the company’s competitive edge.
“This award is a testament to TDM Group’s dedication to providing decent work and a supportive environment for our employees. We are committed to upholding the SDG values by ensuring safe job opportunities and promoting employee health through sustainable business practices,” said Haji Najman Kamaruddin, Executive Director of TDM.
The selection criteria for the Best Employer Award emphasize compliance with EPF standards. Eligible employers must be active companies that have been operational for over five years and have not received the same award within that period. Additionally, companies must be free from any criminal or civil offenses and have no employee complaints related to Non-Contributing Employers (MGM) over the past five years.
Employers are also required to maintain ‘Majikan Hijaur’ status, meaning no compliance issues over a consecutive five-year period. In terms of contribution management, they must utilize electronic media for the submission of contribution data and payments, while strictly adhering to minimum salary and contribution standards. Furthermore, employers demonstrating notable improvements in economic value addition (Voluntary Excess) were prioritized for this award.
Accepting the award on behalf of TDM were Encik Ahmad Shukri Mohd Ali, Head of Human Resources and Administration, Encik Muhammad Zamri Zakaria, Assistant Head of TDMP, and YM Tengku Faridah Tengku Yahya, Financial Manager of KMI Kuala Terengganu.
The KWSP Best Employer Award not only strengthens TDM Group’s reputation as an employer of choice but also aligns with UNSDGs values to foster a healthier, more productive and prosperous society. TDM is poised to continue these efforts, advancing towards a more inclusive and sustainable future.
