Sime Darby Property started off the year on a high note with the launch of the Elmina Lakeside Mall (ELM) and Elmina Outdoor Sculpture Museum (EOSM), officiated by DYMM Sultan Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj Ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alhaj.
DYMM Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Hajah Norashikin, and YAB Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari, Menteri Besar of Selangor, were among the dignitaries and state agency officials present at the launch.
Elmina Lakeside Mall: A Vibrant Retail Hub
Elmina Lakeside Mall, operational since August 2024, serves as a dynamic retail and leisure destination for the City of Elmina and surrounding areas. Key tenants include Jaya Grocer, Harvey Norman, Kenny Hills Bakers, Nak Nak, and Ediya Coffee, marking the Korean coffee chain’s Malaysian debut.
The mall spans over 200,000 square feet of nett lettable area across 17.2 acres and is strategically positioned within a 20-minute drive for a catchment population of 870,000 residents. Achieving an impressive 99% occupancy rate, ELM welcomed over 180,000 visitors in its opening week, with a sustained monthly average of 640,000 visitors.
Designed with sustainability in mind, ELM features outdoor parks, cycling paths, bicycle parking, and plans for solar panel installations. It also houses one of Klang Valley’s largest DC charging stations for electric vehicles, offering 16 chargEV bays.

Elmina Outdoor Sculpture Museum: A Platform for Artistic Expression
The Elmina Outdoor Sculpture Museum complements the retail experience, showcasing contemporary Malaysian artists and soon expanding to include regional and international talents.
Its inaugural exhibit, The Wealthy Horizons sculpture by Abdul Multhalib Musa, sets the tone for the museum’s role as a cultural destination. “The Elmina Outdoor Sculpture Museum celebrates the significance of art and creative expression while promoting Malaysia’s finest contemporary artists to regional and international prominence,” added Dato’ Seri Azmir.
The City of Elmina: A Visionary Township
Spanning 6,500 acres, the City of Elmina integrates residential, commercial, and industrial developments with over 1,100 acres of green spaces and modern amenities. The township is home to 67,000 residents, with a projected population of 150,000 upon completion.
Key features include a 300-acre Central Park, the Elmina Rainforest Knowledge Centre focusing on environmental education, and Malaysia’s longest jogging and cycling track at 90km. The township also houses the Elmina Business Park, Klang Valley’s largest freehold industrial business hub.
