Sharp Malaysia Sales & Service Company Sdn Bhd (SMSS) launched its new and exciting product line-up focusing on the company’s new technology and business directions.

Drawing on the brand’s tagline of “Be Original”, the launch gave a peek into Sharp’s immediate direction for future growth, which is by creating an 8K Ecosytem and products with Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things (nicely coined as AIoT by Sharp) features.

As a company with an established infrastructure – from panel and chip development to product design, manufacture, and service – Sharp is certainly in a prime position to create and develop an 8K Ecosystem through its future innovative line-up of high functional and high quality products.

“Although Sharp is a 100-year-old enterprise, it keeps innovating sincerely and creatively. Today, we are very pleased to launch and share our technological directions with all of you,” said Tadashi Ohyama, the Managing Director of Sharp Malaysia Sales & Service Company Sdn. Bhd. 

“From the presentation, you will realize that we are gearing towards more high-tech and high value-added products, in line with our focus on 8K Ecosystem and AIoT.” Tadashi added. 

A sample of Sharp AQUOS latest 8K TV was flown in specifically for this event and it was undoubtedly the centre of attraction. Sporting an 8K Ultra High Definition LCD which has the current highest resolution of 7,680 x 4,320 pixels, 16 times higher than 2K. This new technology produces overwhelming reality, in which images appear as if they are for real, realizing an astonishing presence and three-dimensional experience. It is also capable of displaying images that could not be described before, hence opening the potential of new applications.

While 8K is the near future, for the present, Sharp launched the new AQUOS 4K line-up in two latest series, 6800X and 6500X, which features Real Contrast, Real Detail and Real colour powered by its unique technology. These new range comes with UHDR (Ultra High Dynamic Range), which gives life light contrast between light and darkness.

In addition, the X4 Master Engine Pro II processor allows contents to be up converted to 4K resolution. These series uses the latest ANDROID operating system, which has the widest range of apps available from Google Play.

To top it off, the 6800X series come equipped with the perfect audio experience using Eilex PRISM technology. Eilex PRISM utilizes data from the entire frontal space of the TV to reproduce the sound of your favourite film or album to what the artists intended. Advances in audio technology must provide high quality sound to match the ever-improving picture. Eilex PRISM and VIR Fliter are the basis of a perfect audio experience.

Sharp also launched a new model of air conditioner and air purifier with IoT functions. With connectivity to the internet, the VX series air conditioner is able to monitor and present useful information such as weather condition, air status and energy consumption, which will be of great assistance to the users to determine the best usage pattern.

In addition, the VX series air conditioner offers a self-diagnose system with error code, which notifies users of specific service requirement, enabling a more efficient and timely

after sales service. The error code will also be recorded for more detail diagnosis when warranted. And of course, user can control the full operation of the air conditioner with smartphone, even from outside the house.

Completing Sharp’s total air solution range is the Air Purifier with IoT function. Unlike most air purifiers which rely only on indoor air quality to determine operation mode, an internet connected IoT air purifier will also consider outdoor condition to determine optimal operation mode, predict useful life span of the filter, and recommend timely cleaning or replacement of the filter to maintain the best result.

The main feature of the Sharp’s new Pelican fridge series is its mega freezer, where its sheer size and innovative way of organizing compartments makes it so spacious. It has a massive size freezer compartment that’s up to 28 litres bigger than previous models. Its freezer organizer with an adjustable divider allows easy storage and ready access to small items while preventing transfer of odours and contamination.

Making ice and saving space go hand in hand with the innovatively designed in-door ice maker and movable type ice maker that provide flexibility in the freezer compartment. More space saving is delivered by the 3-in-1 shelf compartment and adjustable glass shelves. Meanwhile, the exquisitely designed stainless steel handle adds class and elegance with Touch Control Door Panel allowing key settings without even opening the door. Talk about convenience!

The Pelican series also features Sharp’s well known innovative technologies; Plasmacluster that keeps food free from contamination and eliminates mold and bacteria, J-Tech inverter that saves energy and provides precise cooling and Hybrid Cooling System for even cooling that preserves food freshness in every compartment.
