The Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHA) wil organise the inaugural National Energy & Green Technology Award (NEGTA) to recognise organisations that have contributed in the field of sustainable energy.
NEGTA is a platform to highlight the practices that can successfully drive innovation for the energy and green technology sectors in Malaysia.
This year the award consists of four categories from two sectors namely the energy sector and green technology sector.
The two categories under the energy sector are energy efficiency and renewable energy while categories under the green technology sector are innovative pre-commercial products or services and innovative commercial products or services.
“Winners of categories from energy sector will be announced in early March to enable the winners to be proposed for the award at the inaugural ASEAN Energy Awards in April.
“The awards ceremony will be held at Singapore in conjunction with the ASEAN Energy Ministers Meeting 2018,” said Datuk Badriyah Abdul Malek, Deputy Secretary-General of KeTTHA.
The NEGTA award ceremony will be held together with the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition and Conference (IGEM) 2018 which will be held from October 17 to 20 in Kuala Lumpur.
KeTTHA is also urging aspiring participants and industry players in both sector to submit or nominate their respective projects, products and services.
The submission dates for energy sector are from December 1 2017 until February 28 for categories under energy sector and July 1 until August 28 for categories under green technology.
The submission must be made directly to Malaysian Green Technology Corporation (MGTC) as the NEGTA secretariat and the application form can be downloaded from the official NEGTA website.
