In line with the government's initiative to encourage local businesses to go digital, MyBazar Malaysia, a social marketplace focused on local products and merchants, was appointed by Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) to pilot Blee programme, an initiative under the eUsahawan programme.
Representing 76.5 per cent of businesses in Malaysia according to SME Corp, local, micro businesses are poised to become a major growth and employment engine in the country.
Kicking off on March 27, Blee focuses on unlocking growth opportunities of the digital economy to local entrepreneurs.
In continuing their efforts to ensure wider and deeper engagement of local entrepreneurs and merchants, MyBazar Malaysia has started touring the country to present the Blee opportunity and onboard more eUsahawan merchants.
MyBazar is conducting the roadshows as a part of eUsahawan’s nationwide Bootcamp starting with Pekan, Pahang and Sepanggar, Sabah on April 25.
The eUsahawan bootcamp is an awareness programme to engage, inspire and educate participants and micro entrepreneurs on digital entrepreneurship and all other available programmes under eUsahawan.
Activities available during the bootcamp include sharing sessions, financial checkup session, social media training & demonstration, games, quizzes, new Blee merchants registration, mini forum and a free photo session for products.
The bootcamp targets to engage at least 1,000 micro entrepreneurs aged from 18 and above from Pahang area.
MyBazar, commenced operations since June 2017 aims to break through to sellers of the non-urban areas by integrating social networking in their B2B2C marketplace, localised user-friendly interface and direct offline merchant engagement.
MyBazar initiates the ‘Blee’ programme with 500 selected local merchants selling more than 2,000 products ranging from foodstuffs to fashion, home décor and handicrafts.
‘Blee’ which stands for ‘Barangan Luarbiasa Eksklusif eUsahawan’, is aimed at widening the reach and boosting the adoption of ecommerce nationwide by targeting micro and rural merchants and entrepreneurs and this will directly contribute toward growth of local businesses as well as closing a commercial and income divide between rural and urban Malaysia.
Malaysian consumers, on the other hand, will be able to access a dedicated all-local product shopping portal consisting of high quality local products which are exclusive, unique and hard-to-find in urban stores or shopping malls.
Similarly, consumers can explore and purchase exclusive Blee products by visiting MyBazar website or by downloading their apps and to encourage eCommerce adoption, registered Blee sellers will also receive free shipping, full waiver of handling or commission fees until their business has reached a certain level of profitability ensuring they have every opportunity to be successful.
