Award-winning author Datuk Dr Mohd Daud Bakar has launched two of his latest books at the ongoing Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair at the Putra World Trade Centre on May 1, 2018.
The Amanie Group chairman and Malaysian Business Editor-In-Chief unveiled the two books, titled Shariah Is Life and Pulun, at the main stage of the PWTC in front of a full house attendants.
In Shariah is Life, Dr Mohd Daud Bakar writes about the solution to all issues and enigmas in Life. The answer is Shariah. Shariah is interconnected in all fields of life to create a safe,just and prosperous life for everyone.
Pulun, which is in Bahasa Malaysia, takes you through a journey back in time as Dr Mohd Daud Bakar reflects on his childhood upbringing while he shares about the act of “Pulun” (giving it your best and all) as espoused by his hardworking parents.
Later today, Datuk Dr Mohd Daud will be at the book fair again to launch yet another Bahasa Malaysia book titled Anak Desa Ke Persada Antarabangsa. The event starts at 5pm and all are welcome.
The Bahasa Malaysia title is actually a memoir penned by Dr Mohd Daud Bakar as a reply to the thoughts and questions raised by his avid followers and the surrounding ecosystem. Be prepared to immerse and to be motivated in the details of his life journey thus far.
From Shariah intellectual to Shariah advisory to Shariah entrepreneurship, Dr Mohd Daud Bakar is always seeking more and more ways to contribute to the world. Currently, he is the Chairman of the Shariah Advisory Council of the Central Bank of Malaysia, the Securities Commission Malaysia, the Labuan Financial Services Authority and the International Islamic Liquidity Management Corporation.
He is also a member of the Shariah Board of numerous financial institutions, covering all the continents of the world. He was the Deputy Vice Chancellor at the International Islamic University of Malaysia prior to setting up his Islamic finance advisory firm, namely Amanie Advisors.
Under his strategic management and entrepreneurial leadership, Amanie Advisors has been honoured with ‘Islamic Economy Knowledge Infrastructure’ award at the Global Islamic Economy Summit 2015, by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. In 2014, Dr. Mohd Daud Bakar was named as the “Most Outstanding Individual”, awarded by His Majesty, the King of Malaysia, in conjunction with the national level celebration of Prophet Muhammad's birthday.
