UMW Grantt International Sdn Bhd has unveiled four newest addition to its product lineup, highlighting mainly on their Grantt Stellar 8000 SAE 0W-20 API SN PLUS Fully Synthetic engine oil.
The all-new Grantt Stellar 8000 SAE OW-20 are the first in Malaysia to be formulated with Knock Guard technology for low speed pre-ignition (LSPI) Protection, which is claimed to minimise engine knocking.
Besides that, the oil will provide uses with cleaner engines and better fuel saving.
“With more car manufacturers developing engines which are increasingly smaller, more efficient, more advanced and at the same time more powerful; this also creates more extreme operating conditions, especially for turbocharged gasoline direct-injection (TGDI) engines.
“This makes today’s engines more susceptible to LSPI which causes internal engine damage and lead to engine failure.
"The Grantt Stellar 8000 SAE 0W-20 was engineered with this in mind to give drivers outstanding LSPI protection,” said UMW Corporation Sdn Bhd, president of manufacturing and engineering division, Megat Shahrul Azmir Nordin.
LSPI or Low Speed Pre-Ignition, is when early combustion occurs before normal spark-initiated
combustion takes place. LSPI can cause severe damage to a vehicle’s engine and is one of the most challenging factors in engine technology today.
“Our goal is to design next generation lubricant technologies to provide a one-step
solution to protect against LSPI and enable OEMs to continue their development of fuel-saving, low emission engines.
“We have a dedicated team of lubricant engineers, certified lubricant specialists and plant professionals who are focused on bringing the very best out of every molecule that goes into the Grantt formula,” he added.
This oil also claimed to delivers more than 80 per cent better engine protection against wear and tear. With its unique antioxidant additives to control oil thickening, the formula results in better flow to critical parts throughout the oil drain interval. This offers protection during cold engine start at low temperatures, while retaining viscosity benefits at higher temperatures and operating conditions.
Its advanced dispersant and detergent system help to prevent sludge formation and varnish
deposits for cleaner and efficient engine performance. Combined with the low viscosity oil, users can expect extra fuel savings.
According to Grantt, their formulation was created to meet the highest international standards with cutting-edge technology and innovative formulations.
For the highest level of protection and performance, stringent tests and analysis are conducted at our certified ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory.
Grantt’s commitment in producing products of exceptional quality is supported by the use of American Lubricant Technology in the R&D phases.
In addition, Grantt has surpassed the American Petroleum Institute (API) as well as
the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) and key OEMs requirements.
Grantt also introduced a diesel-friendly lubricant, Grantt Quasar SAE 10W-40 API CI-4/SL, which comes in a seven-litre pack, being mainly for the truck market, including pick-ups.
Two other products that were launched includes the Grantt Automatic Transmission Fluid for CVT, and Grantt Automatic Transmission Fluid for automatic transmissions.
