Founder and group chief executive chairman of Rembawang Holdings Sdn Bhd, Datuk Kamisah Johan was recently acknowledged for her continuous commitment and contributions to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by receiving the award for the SME/Personality category at the CSR Malaysia Awards 2018.
“The award is given in appreciation of Datuk Kamisah’s long-standing commitment and active involvement in corporate social responsibility, supporting numerous worthy causes, from animal welfare to reducing food shortage and providing poverty-ridden families with educational, medical, and meal assistance, among others,” said CSR Malaysia’s chairman Datuk R. Rajendran.
“I am honoured to receive this award and would like to express my utmost gratitude to CSR Malaysia for this recognition.
“Giving back to the community is something I am very passionate about and it’s also a core value at my company,” said Datuk Kamisah.
She felt that it is vital for companies and individuals alike to have goals and visions that go beyond products and profit.
“At Rembawang Holdings we strive to instil a culture of corporate responsibility.
“We consider it part of our role to be a socially responsible organisation that makes a positive impact on local communities and promotes sustainable developments,” she added.
Datuk Kamisah received the award from guest of honour Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Deputy Prime Minister cum Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, who honoured 34 Malaysian companies, listed and private, for their CSR efforts.
Organised by ‘CSR Malaysia’ magazine, a free publication under RHA Media Sdn Bhd in support of the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, the CSR Malaysia Awards 2018 luncheon in Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur was attended by some 450 corporate personalities and foreign dignitaries.
Other notable recipients include 7-Eleven, AirAsia, Axiata, Canon, KPJ Hospitals, KPMG, RHB Bank, Shell and Tesco.
