European Blockchain Hub has chosen Malaysia as its Asia node of European Blockchain Hub, as they notice the enormous potential of the blockchain industry in Malaysia which overtook the rest of the countries within this region.
Malaysia has also seen many talented individuals rise high in the blockchain industry over the past few years among them, are Malaysian-born programmer; Matthew Tan, who is the developer of Etherscan and Booby Ong, the co-founder of Coingecko, who is also a Malaysian.
The blockchain industry in Malaysia has also been boosted by the NEM Foundation which has set-up their blockchain centre in Malaysia in March 2017 to serve as an incubator, accelerator, and co-working space.
“We believe that for any industry to have a long term future, the support of the government is vital.
“Bank Negara has shown its openness and support by being one of the pioneers in the region to show intention to regulate the cryptocurrency and this has given us tremendous confidence that this industry will be able to go the distance in Malaysia,” said European Blockchain Hub’s advisory member and founder of Asia Blockchain Hub, Rex Yeap.
In conjunction with the launch of the Euro-Asia Blockchain Hub, kick-starting the one-day’s events are prominent figures in support of the blockchain scene who were present to witness the ribbon-cutting ceremony by guests.
To further corroborate Euro-Asia Blockchain Hub’s momentous step into the progressive world of blockchain industry, the event continues at the St Regis Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
Euro-Asia Blockchain Hub Press Conference is jointly organised by both European Blockchain Hub and Asia Blockchain Hub to uphold the future and standard of international blockchain industry.
Media partners and guests witnessed the highlight of the day; the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by members of the Asia Blockchain Hub sealing their ground in the Asian’s blockchain trending scene.
Later in the afternoon, the event was followed by the Euro-Asia Blockchain Forum where key speakers and blockchain experts hailing from around the globe shared their experiences and challenges about the environment of blockchain industry in their home countries.
European Blockchain Hub was established on May 9 in Slovenia in conjunction with the Declaration of Cooperation on a European Blockchain Partnership signed by 22 European countries on April 10.
