Fast food restaurant KFC will be opening its doors for business at the Botanica. CT Township in Balik Pulau, Penang by the fourth quarter of 2019.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between MTT Properties & Development Sdn Bhd and QSR Brands Holdings Bhd, through its wholly owned subsidiary company, QSR Stores Sdn Bhd to provide KFC Drive-Thru restaurant service.
The MoU was signed by QSR Brands managing director Datuk Seri Mohamed Azahari Mohamed Kamil and MTT Group of Companies chairman Datuk Seri Kenny Ong.
Kenny emphasized that this strategic collaboration between MTT Properties and QSR Brands marks another milestone to the development of Botanica.CT’s commercial parcel.
The participation of the iconic restaurant brand as one of the major anchor tenants will enhance Botanica CT Centre’s potential as the future commercial landmark of Balik Pulau while providing an attractive amenity to the surrounding residents.
According to Mohamed, the strategic partnership offers an excellent opportunity for QSR Brands to expand its business and restaurant services.
He added that as a market leader in Malaysia’s quick service restaurants industry, it aims to be easily accessible to consumers.
The company will also place great emphasis on its expansion strategies to meet consumer demands, while continuing to strengthen its core product and service offerings.
“QSR Brands truly believes in Botanica.CT Centre’s potential in meeting the demands for Finger Lickin’ Good KFC in this locality.
“Through this partnership, we will be offering the community in Balik Pulau and the residents of Botanica.CT with 24 hours finger lickin’ good meals.
“The new store will be able to accommodate up to 180 customers and have a drive-thru section. MTT Properties’ solid reputation and QSR Brands being the leader in the quick-service restaurant segment in Malaysia, we are positive that we will be able to tap into each other’s resources towards achieving our missions,” he added.
Strategically located at the intersection of Jalan Sungai Rusa and Jalan Sungai Air Putih. Botanica CT Centre is part of the Botanica.CT garden township located in Balik Pulau where existing completed developments consist of terrace houses, semi-detached houses, bungalows, Botanica Mansion and the Prince of Wales Island International School. Botanica.CT also has its own Auxiliary Police, which was launched officially last year, for patrolling the community to oversee safety and security.
This commercial development will see the construction of a 80,000-square feet supermarket, 2 Drive-Thru restaurants and 22 units shop offices. Construction is expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2018. Both supermarket and Drive-Thru restaurants will be the very first of its kind for the residents of Balik Pulau.
Kenny also informed that MTT Properties successfully signed tenancy agreements with TF Value-Mart Sdn. Bhd. for the supermarket in November last year and subsequently acquired Starbucks to operate the first Starbucks Drive-Thru in Balik Pulau in January of this year.
Botanica CT Centre also offers 22 units of 22’ x 75’ two-storey shop offices which will offer other retail options for this commercial precinct.
It is expected to bring in retail businesses such as F&B outlets, beauty salons, convenient store, bank etc.
Also present at the ceremony were YB Datuk' Haji Abdul Halim Haji Hussain, Penang State Exco for Local & International Trade, Consumer Affairs and Entrepreneurship Development and Pulau Betong Assemblyman YB Haji Mohd Tuah Ismail.
