Mentari Alam EKO Sdn Bhd (MAEKO) & Nanopac Sdn Bhd were selected as Malaysia’s winners in tech pitching for IPIEC Global Contest 2018, an innovation contest that helps IP owners, SMEs, startups, researchers, and innovators to realise their dream to bring intellectual property (IP) innovations to enter China market.
MAEKO is the brainchild of three individuals focused on solving the Food Waste issue and is committed towards helping the globe achieve zero food waste by providing composting solutions for all kinds of businesses and homes.
On the other hand, Nanopac Sdn Bhd is responsible for changing the Surface Chemistry of any materials with Nanotechnology, innovate technologies in Particle Therapy medical, agricultural, environment engineering and market development and these two selected pitchers will advance to the national level in China in December.
The top two projects of each preliminary contest will be selected to proceed to the semi-final where a written assessment will then be conducted by professional judges to select semi-finalists for the remaining projects that are outside of the 10 preliminary contests.
IPIEC Global a platform to promote global technology transfer and commercialisation of innovations is on a tech scouting drive for the right technologies in the global context for Chinese enterprises.
Winners of the contest will take home grand cash prizes worth US$170,000, have access to renowned investors and they also get to enjoy benefits such as gaining direct experience and understanding about China, being mentored by prestigious entrepreneurs and experts, traveling across multiple destinations in China, receiving diverse online and offline promotion, and enhanced project awareness and exposure.
IPIEC Global 2018 (ASEAN Chapter) the contest aimed to promote revolutionary technologies in a much broader and faster way and heighten awareness of the general public, academics, investors and entrepreneurs on technology trends and IP concepts.

WTOIP, which conducts scouting out technologies globally, is facilitating Malaysian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups with the right technologies to enter the China market.
