Shopee the e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan honoured its expanding community of sellers at the Shopee Seller Awards 2018.
The star-studded occasion saw the attendance of Pos Laju group chief corporate officer, Datuk Azlan Shahrim, celebrities and brands such as Nestle, Honor and Digi shared the stage with as Shopee celebrated a landmark year.
“Since our inception in 2015, we have shattered our own expectations and 2018 was another year of significant milestones, including Shopee 11.11 Big Sale which saw over 11 million orders across the region on November 11 alone.
“We also unveiled BLACKPINK as our first regional brand ambassador in time for Shopee 12.12 Birthday Sale, cementing our position as the leading e-commerce platform in the region.
“In line with our anniversary, we have prepared Shopee Seller Awards 2018 to thank sellers, brands and partners who form the backbone of our tremendous success thus far, we are humbled by their unending support and we dedicate this night especially for them,” said Shopee regional managing director, Ian Ho.
A total of 14 accolades were given out at Shopee Seller Awards 2018 to honour the best sellers across various store categories, the winners for the Shopee Marketplace include Odoso for Best in Lifestyle, Grimo for Best in Fashion, Wako for Best in Consumer Goods, iBeli for Best in Electronics, BHP for Best in Lifestyle.
The winners for Shopee Mall include, MR DIY for Best in Lifestyle, VOIR Malaysia for Best in Fashion, Watsons for Best in Consumer Goods, Honor for Best in Electronics.
The winners for the Partners category include Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza for People’s Celebrity Award, Digi for Best in Telecommunication, FPX for Best in Financial Services.
The respective Seller of the Year award goes to Mono Digital for Shopee Marketplace and Nestle for Shopee Mall.
Shopee had enjoyed a growth in the third quarter of 2018 as with Gross orders and Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) increasing to 24.0 per cent and 21.1 per cent respectively from the second quarter.
Shopee Malaysia also acquired a growing number of users by around 150 per cent in the past year on top of its many highlights for the year which included around 160 million downloads to date, around 400,000 active sellers, around 600 brands and retail partners on Shopee Mall and around 450 employees to serve the sellers and buyers.
In conjunction with the celebration, Shopee is having a 12.12 Birthday Sale that started on November 26 which features three weeks of daily promotions till the peak on December 12 to round off a record year.
The sale will witness various limited edition and special deals from brands and retail partners such as Krispy Kreme that will roll out limited edition Shopee doughnuts to celebrate the anniversary at all 17 outlets across Malaysia while all users can enjoy three free original doughnuts for every half-dozen purchased from December 1 to 20.
