Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad (“Alliance Bank” or the “Bank”) today informs that two employees based at the branch and direct marketing office at its Jalan Ipoh location in Kuala Lumpur, had tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on 28 and 30 December 2020 respectively. The branch employee had also visited the Bank’s Star Boulevard branch on Jalan Yap Kwan Seng. 

The two cases are unrelated. Both employees are currently pending medical treatment at an appointed government hospital. The affected branch employee has been physically absent from office since 25 December 2020, while the other employee was last at the office premises on 28 December 2020.

In line with the Bank’s safety and health guidelines on COVID-19, we have notified other employees who may have had close contact with the affected employees. We have arranged for the employees to get tested for COVID-19, and have advised them to remain in home quarantine. 

The Jalan Ipoh and Star Boulevard branches, as well as the Alliance Direct Marketing office, will be closed until further notice for a thorough sanitisation exercise in accordance with health and safety guidelines.  

We continue to observe all precautionary safety measures in accordance to the Ministry of Health guidelines.
