Kuala Lumpur, 22 April 2021 – Zurich Malaysia has responded to concerns of COVID-19 exposure by introducing two new plans with Guaranteed Acceptance that do not require the customers to visit a hospital for an insurance medical assessment.
The introduction of the plans also aims to address the concern that Malaysians could possibly lose the roof over their head or the ability to provide for the loved ones without a safety net of protection. The recent Bank Negara Malaysia Financial Stability Review 2H2020 showed that Malaysian household debt is at a new high of 93.3%, which means their families will bear the debt burden in addition to everyday expenses of supporting the family should anything unfortunate happen to the breadwinner or due to loss of income.
The plans, Zurich Essential Cover and Zurich Prestige Cover, are specially designed to help protect Malaysians by providing affordable protection and via a hassle-free application process. The options of two plans allow Malaysians to choose the insurance cover that best suit their level of need. Zurich Essential Cover is designed for those who are in the early years of their careers while Zurich Prestige Cover is suitable for Malaysians who are beginning to do retirement planning.
Zurich Life Insurance Chief Executive Officer Khoo Ai Lin said, “We know and understand customer concerns in these uncertain times and we want to provide a solution that is attainable for them. With these two plans, Zurich is protecting Malaysians by taking on the risk for our customers. Through a protection plan that is convenient, customers can close the debt gap and enhance their Malaysian lifestyle. We want to partner customers in providing reassurance that their loved ones can carry on without financial burden in the event of unforeseen circumstances, and reflects our commitment to create a brighter future together for Malaysians.”
The Zurich Essential Cover and Zurich Prestige Cover offer up to 600% basic sum
covered (BSA) and the flexibility to choose preferred BSA ranging from RM20,000 to RM300,000. Both plans cover death, total and permanent disability and golden age disability up to age 100. Ultimately, the plans can turn liabilities into wealth and help customers live better with financial freedom.
Zurich Essential Cover has a low entry point of RM1.43* per day with the choice of 20 or 30-year coverage terms. Meanwhile, Zurich Prestige Cover customers can choose to pay for 5, 10 or 20 years but stay protected for 30 years. It offers a guaranteed maturity benefit at the end of the term to help customers maintain their desired lifestyle or leave a financial legacy for their children.
