Kuala Lumpur, 23 June 2021 – emart24, Korea’s fastest growing convenience store, expands into Malaysia, collaborating with the Beatnk group as their communications partner. The appointment comprises an all-rounded communications approach , integrating strategic and creative communications, PR, influencer management, as well as digital and social media. The widely anticipated first Reserve Store was launched in Bangsar South yesterday, receiving positive support from excited store visitors who were in the neighbourhood and from those ordering via FoodPanda.
emart24 was established in 2014 and has rapidly grown to over 5,500 stores in a mere 7 years, earning the distinction of being Korea’s fastest-growing convenience store. Riding on the Hallyu wave, this Malaysian store will be the first of 300 targeted to be launched in the country over the next 5 years.
Trendy, stylish and artisanal, emart24 aims to redefine the stereotypical, white-walled convenience store by offering fresh Korean street food, aromatic coffee, exclusive Korean snacks from its I’m e and No Brand private labels, and an extensive K-beauty range all in a lifestyle-first concept.
Vuitton Pang, CEO of emart24 Malaysia said, “emart24 brings trendy, stylish and artisanal convenience stores to the local community. The excitement of the launch from the public was positive, stemming from various marketing and communication efforts with the team at Beatnk to bring awareness to the store’s opening, despite having to circumnavigate the new social distancing norms.”
He added, “Through our communications strategy, we are excited to continue our efforts in positioning our brand in line with our consumer-first approach at the core of our interactions, with our customers, both in-store and in the digital sphere.”
“Adapting quickly to the new norm with an ongoing pandemic - is the new norm. So we positioned our messaging to align with the consumer-first approach whilst keeping it approachable at a distance. It has been an amazing experience working with a progressive and collaborative brand and we look forward to more synergetic ideas in the future, localising the brand in addition to bringing awareness to the brand's customer experience innovations.” said Tanner Nagib, Co-Founder of Beatnk and Strategic Advisor at REBL.
The first emart24 Malaysia Reserve Store has opened in Bangsar South, while the first General Store will begin operations in Hartamas very soon, carrying signature offerings such as Korean street food.
