Kuala Lumpur, 30 August 2021 - Jardin Pharma, Malaysia’s first Halal eco-pharmaceutical company has successfully secured RM 3 million in its first-round funding, between May to June. Jardin Pharma will channel the resources into research and development (R&D) for new, high-quality supplements that will embody the Halal and eco principles of the brand.
The three new supplements that are currently being developed are Vitamin C, immune booster, and oral eczema supplements. All of which are made with natural ingredients whilst adhering to strict Halal requirements. These new offerings will be introduced to the market by early 2022.
"There is no denying that the Halal compliant and eco-conscious markets are huge global earners respectively. Both concepts have penetrated into the pharmaceutical industry to great success. Now we at Jardin Pharma, intend to combine both these attributes to deliver a novel approach that will forge new paths forward for the industry. It is this innovative approach that has allowed us to garner such rapid success in our first round of funding. We will use these funds to develop a new line of supplements that match the Halal and eco-friendly demands of the new generation of consumers,” stated Dr Maryam, Founder and CEO of Jardin Pharma.
Following this success, Jardin Pharma is already in the midst of its second round of fundraising and is looking to raise a total of RM 5 million in two months to bulk up R&D efforts. So far they have been successful in raising RM 2 million and are looking to reach their designated target by the end of September. Through the funding, Jardin Pharma is looking to secure a manufacturing facility to speed up and streamline production as they look to push the industry towards new horizons.
“While we have no shortage of talented and dedicated researchers in Malaysia striving on a daily basis to discover the next breakthrough in the pharmaceutical industry, the sad reality is, more often than not, that we tend to purchase products from foreign companies without even realising it! With Jardin Pharma, we wanted to build a homegrown company that can not only meet the nutritional needs of Malaysians, but also provide spearhead new and innovative methodologies and principles that can solidify Malaysia’s position within the industry at a global level. We want this to be a brand that Malaysians can be proud to speak about for many generations to come,” added Dr Maryam.
Founded in 2016, Jardin Pharma is the first Halal eco-pharmaceutical company in Malaysia. Through combining the readily available natural resources and science to invent cutting edge pharmaceutical products, the company has set its course to be the leading and trusted Halal eco-pharmaceutical brand in the nation and offer products that are proudly made in Malaysia.
The current round of fundings is all part of Jardin Pharma’s longer-term plans, to elevate the company to even greater heights with a listing on Bursa pencilled in for the near future.
