1 February 2022, Kuala Lumpur: International SOS (holding company AEA), the world's leading health and security services company, takes its commitment to sustainability to the next level as it has been awarded a Silver EcoVadis Medal. Having received its first EcoVadis certification in 2020, this new accreditation is another step forward for International SOS in its dedication to being a truly sustainable business.
EcoVadis provides one of the world's most trusted business sustainability ratings. It is an on-line score-card tool for global organisations providing insight into environmental, social & ethical risks. More than 55,000 businesses, including leading blue-chip organisations, have EcoVadis accreditation which highlights and recognises achievements in the sustainability space.
This recognition from EcoVadis places International SOS among the top 12% of companies assessed. It is a true testament to the sustainable work that International SOS has achieved to date, as it aims to integrate sustainability, step by step, into every part of its business.
Mark Crawford, Group Director of Quality and Compliance, who led the certification efforts commented: "Gaining this certification is a proud moment for the team at International SOS, it marks another step in our journey in the sustainability space. Our organisation’s actions are underpinned by concern for the wellbeing of our own employees and the communities in which we operate. This EcoVadis certification demonstrates our full global commitment to the ESG agenda."
Recent work by International SOS in the sustainability space includes developing a training course on Sustainability Management & Reporting for the Occupational Health & Safety Practitioner. The course covers how to prepare an organisation to manage OHS & wellbeing sustainably and explains which metrics and initiatives to prioritise for sustainability reporting.
Additionally, International SOS collaborated with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) in developing their Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) online course, launched in October 2020.
