Kuala Lumpur, 28 March 2022 - Wilstech, a Malaysian based digitisation company today signs a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) with global cloud service provider - Huawei Cloud. This partnership not only serves as a stepping stone for Wilstech's services to be further recognised by established organizations and multinationals but also allows both companies to collaborate on the development of digital transformation solutions for franchises with future technology powered by Huawei Cloud. The event was also attended by Yang Berhormat Senator Dato' Sri Dr. Haji Mohamad Ali bin Haji Mohamad, Deputy President of the Dewan Negara.
According to the terms of the MoC, Wilstech has been appointed as a technology partner to plan, consult, develop and implement joint opportunities and projects, thereby allowing existing Huawei partners and customers to transition to tech-based solutions through Wilstech's slew of digital offerings. Some of the services that will be provided include enterprise resource planning systems, web and mobile app development, network penetration tests, and more. To achieve this, both Wilstech and Huawei Cloud will focus on opening doors to future-oriented, cloud-based digital solutions to enable state-of-art services and experiences for customers keen on taking their business game to the next level.
CEO and co-founder of Wilstech, Wilson Low states "We are extremely honoured to join hands with an established organisation such as Huawei. Having already digitised over 168 SMEs, startups, and businesses, we are looking to keep the momentum going to grow the nation’s economy in the long run, starting with this partnership. We believe that our expertise will prove invaluable for companies in the long run. Through this partnership, we are certain that we will improve the effectiveness and productivity of SMEs, startups, and enterprise organizations alike.”
Despite external factors like encouragement from the government and the global pandemic necessitating the acceleration of digitisation efforts, the unfortunate reality is that there has been a lag in digital adoption among SMEs and startups. In fact, around 77% of SMEs in Malaysia still remain at the basic digitalisation stage.
With over 30 years of technical expertise under its belt, Huawei provides a multitude of innovative, trustworthy products and services to customers all over the globe. Today, with the surge in demand for cloud technology and services, the company offers services that include but are not limited to, Artificial Intelligence (AI), analytics, storage, and more. These offerings help streamline processes, increase performance and effectiveness while reducing overall costs.
Huawei Malaysia’s Vice President of the Cloud and AI Business, Mr Lim Chee Siong said, “It is always our goal at Huawei Cloud to dive into digitalisation and to provide Everything as a Service (XaaS). We will continue to innovate with local partners to offer cutting-edge technologies to support customers’ digital transformation journey. The collaboration with Wilstech will see more cloud-based digital solutions made ready for SMEs market in Malaysia.”
Established in 2016, Wilstech has been hard at work in digitising Malaysia's SMEs and startups with tech-based solutions such as HR, accounting and CRM solutions, infrastructure and hardware services or software and mobile app development. Most recently, Wilstech collaborated with the Selangor Information Technology & Digital Economy Corporation (SIDEC) to provide a Selangor SME Digitalisation Matching Grant to kick-start the digital transformation journeys of 200 local SMEs.
