Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA, 28 September 2022
Since its inception, Farm in the City (“FITC”) has provided hundreds of thousands of Malaysians over the last 10 years with an avenue to learn more about the animals that are living among us and the importance of preserving our natural habitats and the critters that call them home.
Reaching its 10th year in operation, FITC has grown to become more than an ordinary public farm and petting zoo. Farm In The City has become a major tourist attraction for the state of Selangor in addition to its role in nature and wildlife research and conservation.
Speaking on the significance of Farm In The City’s resilience to become a household name in the community over the last 10 years, FITC’s founder Dato’ Allan Phoon, stated:
“Throughout the 10-year journey, there definitely were challenges in operating Farm In The City. However, with that said the challenges and difficulties only made us better – we learnt and developed better ways; and even identified other opportunities that have enhanced and expanded our business arena.”
With more than 20 years of experience in the field, he has been the brains behind a multitude of successful animal and nature parks throughout the country including Sunway Lagoon Wildlife Park and the Lost World of Tambun Petting Zoo.
Under his leadership, the FITC family consists of a professional team well-versed in nature and animal projects, who take pride in their work. Part of FITC’s mission to impart and educate the public on the habitat, behaviour and geographical distribution of the animals in the global landscape, it continuously promotes wildlife and environmental education through carefully designed programmes for local and overseas students of all ages on themes of conservation and preservation.
The farm takes pride in being completely free of cages, allowing all the animals to roam free in special enclosures which mimic as closely as possible to their natural surroundings.
To truly ring in the festivities, Farm In The City will be hosting a three-day fun-filled carnival from the 8th to 10th of October 2022. Open to the public, guests are invited to join in the auspicious celebration and get to know the native wildlife through a spectacular animal parade. Get up close and personal with the many critters that call FITC home, including the latest addition to the family, Bubu, the pygmy buffalo, and all his friends.
Fill your day with the other fun activities available such as a magnificent magic show, mingling clowns and a special mascot appearance, and many more. Try your luck at the game booths then when you’re in need of nourishment, head on over to the food trucks to grab something to bite.
Additionally, FITC will also be having a special discount promotion on tickets for its lovely patrons. Adults get to enjoy RM10 off their ticket price while children will be able to gain entry into the enclosure at only RM10 for a limited time only.
