In a significant recognition of its pioneering artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives, business consulting and technology company Avanade has been named the ‘Best AI Consulting Service Provider’ by the 2024 AI Breakthrough Awards.

This accolade highlights the success of Avanade’s Disrupt Avanade programme, spearheaded by the company’s first Chief AI Officer, the company said in a statement.

The Disrupt Avanade initiative is a part of the company’s Global Centre for AI, which manages the AI strategy and the upskilling of their 60,000 employees including Malaysians under the company’s employment, ensuring adherence to responsible AI practices.

The programme focuses on integrating AI across all business functions with a people-first approach that emphasises cultural adaptation, skills development and effective change management.

This award also celebrates Avanade’s role in Microsoft’s Early Access Programme with OpenAI, exploring and scaling innovative AI-driven projects that enhance productivity, creativity and collaboration.

In Malaysia, Avanade had launched its first generative AI lab for Southeast Asia in Kuala Lumpur last year.

Prior to that, the company had launched its first Malaysian Digital Innovation Studio in Kuala Lumpur located at the Tun Razak Exchange.
