The Malaysian capital market grew 12.6% to RM3.2 trillion in 2017 with total capital raised amounting to RM146.6 billion, according to the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) in conjunction with the release of its annual report.

The capital market witnessed double-digit growth across all segments due to better economic fundamentals, corporate earnings recovery, growth in private investments, strong foreign investment inflows and higher investor participation.

The East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC) has recently signed a Cooperation Agreement with TUM International GMBH (TUM) of Germany for the establishment of the Asia Centre of Excellence for Smart Technologies (ACES) at the Cybercentre in Pahang Technology Park (PTP), in a move that will take the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) of Malaysia into the forefront of the Fourth Industrial Revolution or Industry 4.0.

TUM International GMBH is a subsidiary of Technische Universität München (Technical University of Munich, TUM), Germany’s top-ranking university based on the “QS World University Ranking”.

Malaysia's small businesses are experiencing positive business conditions, with many adding jobs and investing in technology, according to a new survey released today.

The findings, from CPA Australia's eighth annual Asia-Pacific Small Business Survey, follow extensive surveying of nearly 3,000 small business operators in Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and China.
