Today, the Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB) joyously hosted its highly anticipated Hari Raya Open House event, dedicated to fostering unity and inclusivity for individuals with visual impairments. The event, held at Kompleks MAB, Brickfields, brought together members of the blind community, their families, and supporters for a day of celebration, cultural immersion, and shared experiences.
The Hari Raya Open House event was resounding success, with attendees participating in a range of engaging activities such as performances including singing, dancing etc. Guest had the opportunity to enjoy traditional Malay music, performances, and activities that highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Hari Raya, and not forgetting to get to know the community.
The volunteers eighty (80) of them from the Standard Chartered Bank staff too enjoyed helping and serving the blind community this day.

Throughout the day, attendees had the chance to savor a delectable array of traditional Malay delicacies specially prepared to appeal to all senses. The Hari Raya Open House event exemplified MAB's commitment to promoting awareness, understanding, and acceptance of individuals with visual impairments within society. By providing a platform for meaningful interactions and shared experiences, MAB aims to create a more inclusive and supportive community for al. The children of the blind community were also treated with duit Raya.
The Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB), is the primer non-governmental charity organization that has served for 7 decades, with full dedication to create equal opportunities
for the Visually Impaired (OKU) community. Enabling the visually impaired (OKU) community to enjoy the same quality of life as the sighted individuals, in the field rehabilitation, training, education and employment under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 10); (SDG 3); (SDG 1); (SDG 8) and (SDG 4). Currently as of October 2023, there are 58,289 visually impaired people registered with the Department of Social Welfare (JKM), Malaysia.
