Public and Private Investments Spur Terengganu’s Socio-Economic Growth

Terengganu’s socio-economic growth is expected to remain strong and resilient following the Federal Government’s concerted efforts through the East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC) in partnership with the Terengganu State Government to implement high-impact InfraRakyat projects.

Recently, ECERDC awarded a contract worth RM168 million for the main construction and infrastructure works at the Kertih Biopolymer Park (KBP) including major earthworks, road and drainage works, utility works and services as well as other associated works. The 170-hectare KBP had so far secured a total of RM4.78 billion in investments and will create 5,119 potential job opportunities. Further to this, an area of 80 hectares has also been identified for KBP’s Phase 3 expansion to accommodate the growing demand in the bio-economy sector from both local and foreign investors.

Internet Alliance Lauds PM's Cloud-First Strategy

Internet Alliance (IA), a not-for-profit organisation that facilitates about 85% of Malaysia's active Internet scene, lauds the ‘Cloud-First’ strategy for government agencies and pub-lic sector to boost the digital economy.

Announced by the Prime Minister just before the upcoming Budget 2018, "Cloud-First" would become part of the National Agenda, starting with the public sector.

Dow Performance Silicones, a global business unit of DowDuPont Materials Sciences division, today announced the launch of Dow Corning® HMB-6301 Masterbatch, a unique, patent-pending solution based on the heritage Dow Corning silicone technology platform.

The advanced silicone-based technology addresses key drawbacks of standard slip agents, including continuous migration from the film surface and degradation over time and under elevated temperatures, to better facilitate packaging production processing of bi-axially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film.

Deleum And UTP Ink Memorandum Of Understanding

Deleum Chemicals Sdn Bhd (Deleum Chemicals), a subsidiary of Deleum Berhad, and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop new cost-effective technologies for oilfield production enhancement.

The MoU was signed by Group Managing Director of Deleum Berhad Nan Yusri Nan Rahimy and Vice Chancellor of UTP Datuk Ir (Dr) Abdul Rahim Haji Hashim.  It was witnessed by General Manager of Deleum Chemicals Anwarudin Saidu and Director of Strategic Alliance Office of UTP Associate Professor Dr Fawnizu Azmadi Hussin.
