For generations, rice has been an important staple food for millions of people, especially Asians. On October 10, the important Malaysian staple finally received the long-deserved recognition with “The Rice Day”.

It is claimed that this is the first time rice is given its own special day of celebration and appreciation. 

Motorola Solutions commenced its collaboration with the Malaysian Communica-tions and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) by becoming the latest partner in the Commission’s Check Your Label and Mobile e-Waste initiatives for communication devices.

In celebration of its 30th anniversary, Malaysia Airlines’ Frequent Flyer Programme, Enrich, has launched a ‘30 Days of Rewards’ campaign to offer loyal members more ways to earn miles. 

Running throughout the month of October, the campaign will enable Enrich members to earn up to six times more miles when flying on Malaysia Airlines, all 14 airlines and 30 affiliates within the oneworld® alliance, eight partner airlines, at over 300 hotel partner properties globally, by using credit card from bank partners, as well as other lifestyle partners. 

The International Biomass Conference Malaysia 2017 (IBCM 2017), to be held from OCTOBER 19–20, will outline Malaysia’s evolution in the nation’s Waste to Wealth pursuit, based on biomass, that will include applications into multi stream product concepts of bio-refining, with a main focus on the country’s potential in the sector with massive developments in areas of digital agriculture and rural development that will be critical enablers for this new sustainable economic model.
