Fast food restaurant KFC will be opening its doors for business at the Botanica. CT Township in Balik Pulau, Penang by the fourth quarter of 2019.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between MTT Properties & Development Sdn Bhd and QSR Brands Holdings Bhd, through its wholly owned subsidiary company, QSR Stores Sdn Bhd to provide KFC Drive-Thru restaurant service.

The very first Malaysian desserts themed “Selfie Museum” was launched at Fahrenheit 88 and will be open for public starting from August 31.

UMW Holdings Bhd’s core business segments of Automotive, Equipment and Manufacturing & Engineering (M&E) recorded higher revenue in the second quarter of 2018 mainly due to increased consumer demand arising from the Goods and Services Tax (GST) – free period in Malaysia.

Consequently, the Automotive and Equipment segments registered higher profit before taxation (PBT) of 43.9% and 17.4%, respectively. UMW’s new aerospace business has started to generate revenue, contributing to 15.9% revenue growth for the M&E segment. As a result, the segment registered a substantially lower loss before taxation than in the previous corresponding quarter. The loss is expected as the aerospace business is still in its gestation period.

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) announced its financial results for the first half of the year ended 30 June 2018. The Group posted revenue of RM5.78 billion year-to-date, 2.7% lower from RM5.94 billion in the corresponding period last year.

This was primarily due to a decline in voice, data and other telecommunication related services as well as provisions recognised against wholesale revenue impacted by regulatory mandated access pricing.

Technology and Talent Platform Innovator, Prestariang Bhd yesterday reported its second quarter results (2QFY18) ended 30th June 2018. For the reporting quarter, the Group registered a higher revenue of RM55.9 million compared to RM55.2 million recorded in previous year corresponding quarter. The higher revenue of RM0.7 million or 1% increase was mainly contributed by Concession revenue of Sistem Kawalan Imigresen Nasional (“SKIN”) project.

The revenue was recognised based on the stage of completion at the end of the reporting period. The stage of completion is determined by reference to the proportion of costs incurred for work performed to date over the estimated total costs.

Destini Berhad (Destini or Group) has been awarded a US$5.2 million (RM21.17 million) contract from Posco Daewoo Corporation (PDC) for the provision of tubular running services (TRS) in Myanmar.

PDC is a Korea-based oil and gas company that first began its offshore gas field project in Myanmar in 2000. After over a decade of exploration and development processes, the field started commercial production in 2013.

Century Software (M) Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Censof Holdings Bhd (Censof), has secured a RM3.85 million contract from Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to provide comprehensive maintenance and support services for its ePBT financial management system.

The company has also received a contract worth RM999,983 from the Social Security Organisation (Socso) to further enhance its system of managing prospective customers and current customer interactions.

UPS, a global logistics company, has announced a series of network enhancements implemented across Asia to support Asian businesses to further expand globally.

The announcement was made following strong company- wide growth in the first half of 2018 and International Monetary Fund’s recent global economic outlook that anticipates Asia to maintain its robust performance with growth at 6.5 per cent in 2018 to 2019.
