NanoTextile Sdn Bhd signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Malaysian Textile and Apparel Centre (Matac).

The MoU was to gear up the development, advancement and commercialisation of nanotechnology in Malaysia’s textile industry.

Sunway Berhad, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, SunwayMas Sdn Bhd, signed a shareholders’ agreement with Perkasa Bernas (M) Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of MKH Berhad.

The agreement was for a joint venture vehicle, Daksina Harta Sdn Bhd via SunwayMas’ disposal of four ordinary shares in Daksina to Perkasa, at a total consideration of RM5 million.

Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB), through TNB Research Sdn Bhd has teamed up with two other companies on a demonstration plant that cleans and removes impurities from palm oil empty fruit bunches (EFB) used in the production of premium biomass pellet. The pellet is manifactured as fuel for power generation.

TNB Research, together with KEPRI, the research institute of KEPCO, South Korea’s largest electric utility and Detik Aturan Sdn Bhd (DASB), a Malaysian biomass pellet producer, last Tuesday launched the demonstration plant, Malaysia’s first Biomass Water Washing Demonstration Plant.
