SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of SIRIM Berhad, launched its latest testing facility, the brake testing laboratory, making it the only commercial test house in the Southeast Asian region to have such test facility. 

“Local brake pad manufacturers who previously had to send their products overseas for costly testing will benefit in terms of lower cost of testing at SIRIM QAS International,” said Mohd Azanuddin Salleh, Managing Director of SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd during the launch of the testing lab here recently.

AMMB Holdings Berhad (AmBank Group) was named the “Best Investor Relations Banking Group Malaysia 2017” by the Global Banking & Finance Review (GBFR) based on an annual poll.

This win came on the heels of the Alpha Southeast Asia’s 7th Best Corporate-Institutional Investor Awards 2017 where AmBank Group won the Most Improved Investor Relations and was placed Top 3 in Most Organised Investor Relations, Strongest Adherence to Corporate Governance and Most Consistent Dividend Policy in Malaysia.

Malaysia will be almost cashless by 2025, predicts CIMB Group Chairman Nazir Razak in an article he wrote titled “Thriving in a Disrupted World”.

If his predictions comes true, Nazir said bank branches will become a rare sight and automated teller machine (ATM) will seem as retro as phone booths are today.
