GECommunity Summit 2017 Sparks Action and Commitment Across Entrepreneurship Ecosystem to Design Future Economies

The two-day Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GECommunity Summit) 2017 concluded on a new high with almost 15,000 participants from 80 countries representing aspiring and experienced entrepreneurs, more in-depth discussions on the drivers of future economies, and richer ecosystem involvement to positively shape our future economy.

The two-day Summit sparked insightful conversations and drew focus to relevant key topics around the future of the entrepreneurship ecosystem in ASEAN. Beyond providing a platform for greater collaboration, the Summit was also a bridge for inspiring international speakers to stimulate new ideas and help nurture entrepreneurs in the region.

Funding Societies Emerges as Market Leader of P2P Financing Industry in Malaysia

Funding Societies, a Malaysian-founded peer-to-peer (P2P) financing platform, ends 2017 as the domestic market leader of the country’s rapidly growing P2P financing sector. 

Data compiled by all P2P financing operators in Malaysia from February 2017, when the first local P2P platform began operations, to November 2017, shows that domestic P2P platforms have raised a total of RM17 million for Malaysian SMEs. Of the RM 17 million, Funding Societies alone contributed to around RM10 million in financing or more than half of the total amount, while maintaining a default rate of 0%.

Blusense Diagnostics Wins Colossusinno2017 Global Innovation Competition at The Global Entrepreneurship Community Summit 2017 

The Global Entrepreneurship Movement (GEM) ended today on a high note with the announcement of the inaugural winner of ColossusINNO2017 at the Global Entrepreneurship Community (GEC) Summit 2017. 

After an intense deliberation, Blusense Diagnostics from Denmark were handed the title that came with a winning prize of USD100,000 to pilot the innovation as a solution in the preferred ASEAN country.

Malaysia Commercialization Year (MCY) 2017 Awards Celebrates Local Products with a Total Prize of RM1 Million

In conjunction with the two day MCY Summit at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI) celebrated the local talents for their significant contributions to the nation’s economic growth towards 2050 by awarding them with MCY 2017 Awards.

This MCY 2017 Awards is one of the major highlights from the summit which aim is to provide recognition and incentives to the best products and technologies. The award is also to encourage interest in the commercialization of products.
