Malaysia shared the experience in facilitating Malaysian SMEs during the 24th APEC Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Ministerial Meeting. The meeting takes place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from 10-15 September, with the theme “Strengthening MSMEs Competitiveness and Innovation in the Digital Age”. Twenty one Ministers of APEC member economies participated in the meeting. Malaysian delegation is led by YB Datuk Chua Tee Yong, Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry Malaysia.
During the meeting, YB Datuk Chua Tee Yong presented a paper on “Riding the Wave of Change: Growing Beyond Borders”, which covers the emergence of megatrends, its direct and far-reaching impact on SMEs, as well as challenges that should be overcome by SMEs.
Kuala Lumpur, September 15, 2017: Google Malaysia recently held its second Agency Quiz Night which saw Performics emerging as the grand prize winner. The marketing agency took the top spot on the scoreboard, granting them the winner’s trophy, bragging rights and substantial Google schwag. Following very closely behind were content agency Mediacom and marketing agency Omnicom, who fought hard for second and third place, respectively.
In a joint press conference, MDEC, HRDF and Knowledge Group officially announced the launch of Big Data Week 2017. Following the success of previous editions, this year’s week long celebration of data will kick off on the 2nd – 3rd October with the anchor conference Next Big Tech Asia alongside with Smart Cities Asia in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
The anchor event will bring together over 60 global experts and chief data scientists from leading organisations like Google, Facebook, San Diego City, Helsinki City, New South Wales Government, Fusionex and iFlix to share their experience in turning data into insights.
The Malaysian Minister of Finance II, His Hon. Datuk Seri Johari Ghani led a delegation comprising 29 high-profile Malaysian government officials, industry captains and members of the Kuala Lumpur Business Club (KLBC), on a three-day business mission to Bangkok to further strengthen business relations and economic cooperation between Malaysia and Thailand. During the business mission, Datuk Seri Johari Ghani also paid a courtesy call on Thailand’s Prime Minister, H.E Prayuth Chan-ocha; Deputy Prime Minister, H.E. Somkid Jatusripitak, Minister of Finance H.E. Apisak Tantivorawong; and other high-level Thai government officials and regulators.
