A joint venture between Bina Puri Builder Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Bina Puri Holdings Bhd and Tim Sekata Sdn Bhd (Bina Puri – Tim Sekata JV) has won a sub-contract work from Syarikat Pembenaan Yeoh Tiong Lay Sdn Bhd.

The contract was to undertake Section 4 Civil Works - Site Clearance and Embankment Earthwork with All Associated Works for the Electrified Double Track from Gemas to Johor Bahru Project.

The contract value is RM251,531,225.50 and targeted to be completed by 30th April 2020.

The scope of works includes earthworks for track diversion, building platform and track embankment, ground treatment, surcharging, sand blanket, sub-ballast, retaining structure, trackside drainage, track culvert, and river protection.

“2019 will be a promising year for Bina Puri as with the latest award, the Group’s un-built book order stands at RM1.145 billion.

“As Malaysia’s Landmark Builder since 1975, we are proud to be part of the Electrified Double Track from Gemas to Johor Bahru Project,” said Bina Puri Holdings Bhd group executive director, Datuk Matthew Tee.

“The latest award is a strong testament that Bina Puri has strong capability to undertake various types of project including rail track project,” he added.

Bina Puri has vast experience and had completed many rail track related projects.

The projects including two packages of the Ampang (AMG) Line Extension Project namely Package A and Package B with total contract value of RM1.10 billion, completed in October 2015 and June 2016 respectively, and an Infrastructure Work at Awan Besar Station of Ampang (AMG) Line Extension Project with contract value of RM49.87 million which was completed in May 2016.
