Nippon Paint Malaysia Sdn Bhd (“Nippon Paint”), the leading Total Coating & Construction Solutions provider, through its “Akademi Painter” initiative, aims to train over 400 local entrepreneurs and painters to propel the economic growth in the Klang Valley area by elevating industry standards, create job opportunities, and enhance professional skills in the booming home renovation and construction market. 

According to the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), the labour force participation rate reached 70.6% in 2024, with skill-related underemployment remaining a challenge. The Akademi Painter programme aims to bridge this gap by equipping local painters and entrepreneurs with high-demand skills, improving their employability and income opportunities.

Aligned with Malaysia’s Madani Economy Vision 2030, this programme fosters entrepreneurial growth and employment opportunities. Mr. Tay Sze Tuck, General Manager of Nippon Paint Malaysia, emphasised: “We are committed to supporting our local business owners, painters, and dealers, who are the backbone of our industry. Through upskilling initiatives like Akademi Painter, we strive to foster sustainable livelihoods, drive industry excellence, and contribute to the economic growth of Klang Valley. Additionally, as part of this programme, Nippon Paint incorporated an innovative tool to enhance collaboration and empower local entrepreneurs and painters. Known as Partner Connect, this app offers a range of features to streamline communication and foster growth within the local applicator community.

As such, to further inspire attendees and recognise their dedication, Nippon Paint awarded program certificates to dealers and painters, along with the prestigious Best Nippon Paint Supporter’s Award.
