Malaysian consumers’ search for goods has rose by 32 per cent on the Shopee e-commerce platform due to Chinese New Year festive period.
Shopee Malaysia regional managing director Ian Ho added that the spike in the number of searches indicated the trend of consumers opting to shop online for their festive necessities.
“This is a good sign, and is in line with the government’s initiatives to drive forward e-commerce in Malaysia.
“Shopee provides users a fast, convenient and secure platform to shop on, and with our Free Shipping across Malaysia and Zero (0) Commissions incentives, Malaysians can enjoy great convenience and cost-savings when shopping with us,” he said.
He added more Malaysians had turned to the platform for their festive requirements as they offer generous discounts and customers were also able to join contest to grab prizes worth more than RM1 million.
Blouse, jeans, dress and cheongsam are all under the top searches for women’s clothes category and the most popular items sold under home and living category is tupperware gift set.
