Selangor Dredging Berhad (SDB) recently released a seven-point brand manifesto outlining its values, principles and core beliefs to high standards
Its “Manifesto for living well and responsibly” elaborates on principles the company believes in and puts into practice, namely, investing in: its products; community; quality; customers; its people; environmental sustainability; and peace of mind.
SDB group managing director Teh Lip Kim said that SDB’s investment in its products is rooted in its belief that every project it creates is meant to deliver an extraordinary living experience.
The company’s community engagement can also be seen through its various corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, some of which have won awards, for example, its Sungai Satu Programme in Batu Ferringhi (Penang) won a silver in the FIABCI Prix d’Excellence award which is the highest industry recognition, for the rehabilitation of a polluted river.
SDB has also won four other FIABCI Malaysia Property Awards for its developments, namely Park Seven in Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) in 2009, 20trees in Melawati in 2012, Dedaun in Jalan Ampang in 2015 and By The Sea in Batu Ferringhi in 2016.
The accolades are not limited to Malaysia as late last year, SDB won the FIABCI Singapore Property Awards 2017 in the Residential (Mid-Rise) category for Hijauan on Cavenagh.
The development by wholly-owned subsidiary SDB Asia Pte Ltd will now compete in the FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence 2018.
Teh said it was SDB’s first FIABCI win in Singapore and that “We will work towards having more award-winning developments in the future.”
SDB has several projects in Singapore, and has added a parcel of land with an existing seven-storey apartment building in Draycott Park, Singapore. It is believed SDB planned to develop exclusive mid-rise apartments on the 17,442 sq ft land.
The SDB group had also acquired another piece of freehold property along Singapore’s Serangoon road last year and which boast of a panoramic view of the Kallang River.
Teh stressed that SDB invests significantly into ensuring its products’ design and quality and that they believe that “it is only when we measure ourselves that we are able to improve.”
To this end, SDB is committed to ensuring all its future developments achieve a The Construction Quality Assessment System (CONQUAS) which serves as a standard assessment system on the quality of building projects, rating of 75.
Another area that SDB takes pride in is customer engagement and satisfaction as unlike most other developers, SDB continues to manage nine of the 11 properties it has developed in the Klang Valley and This initiative, said Teh, has become an extension of SBD’s brand and services.
The company’s upcoming ‘SDB HOST’ service will assist its customers with renovation, sub-sale, tenancy, loyalty programmes and handyman requirements, all of which are managed by dedicated property management teams.
There are also multiple feedback channels for customers to reach out and engage with SDB
