Malaysian oil & gas corporation PETRONAS was ranked second in Rigzone’s ‘2018 Ideal Employer Top 10 National Oil Companies’ survey, climbing two places from its 4th position in the list last year.
The Top 10 NOCs ranking, published in the leading online resource portal, is the result of an annual employer survey involving a sample of over 8,000 oil & gas professionals in more than 100 countries. The respondents selected companies based on a variety of questions given current market conditions.
In its result summary, Rigzone stated that PETRONAS, (led by its Group CEO and President Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin), is “making a growing impression on the oil & gas industry, both in Malaysia and abroad” as a major player in Asia’s LNG sector, having “deployed noteworthy projects such as the PETRONAS LNG Complex in Malaysia’s Sarawak state and the floating LNG facility PFLNG Satu in the South China Sea”.
The article also noted PETRONAS’ ability to “process 570,000 bpd of crude oil at refineries in Malaysia and South Africa”, and the company’s target to “add 300,000 bpd of new capacity by 2020 through its Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (RAPID) project in Johor”.
