Designed, developed and curated by Selangor Dredging Berhad (SDB), One Draycott located in the upscale Ardmore Draycott residential enclave offers bespoke living with only 64 crafted units of two-bedroom apartments. Each unit comes with a private lift lobby and ranges from 732 to 1345 sq ft designed by the award-winning architects, CarverHaggard of London.
One Draycott is also the 6th development by Selangor Dredging Berhad to launch in Singapore. One Draycott has an iconic façade. Its sleek tower is graced by muted gold and champagne trimmings, alongside black horizontal bands. The contemporary curtain walls create a clean silhouette while expansive windows and glass balustrades give a sleek exterior finish and internally creates an ambience of open space while letting in streams of natural light.
Residents at One Draycott will enjoy the covered facilities deck equipped with a gym and a swimming pool to enable residents to swim or work out in all weather conditions. To carry through the design perspective, touches of muted gold and champagne can be seen on the patterned ceilings at the facilities deck. To complement the sleek architecture, lush tropical landscape with clusters of trees and feature walls with vertical planting provide a calming and serene ambience to rest and relax. Residents may also cook or dine al-fresco at the adjacent outdoor dining area.
This freehold property is within a short stroll from one of the world’s most popular shopping and entertainment belts - Orchard Road and Scotts Road. Residents of One Draycott will have easy access to famous all-in-one retail centres such as Ion Orchard, Tangs Plaza and Paragon where one can dine or window shop. Several social clubs such as the Tanglin Club and American Club are also just a stone’s throw away.
To give exclusivity and uniqueness to each of the 64 units, SDB also commissioned the services of Anna and David Hiscock – long standing practitioners of fine art and design to bring their inimitable style of functional art to One Draycott. This creative partnership has resulted in a lobby entrance that features a stunning geometric gate that is interwoven with fine steel and polished stones extracted from the foot of the Italian Alps.
The Hiscock’s functional art can also be seen in the sculpture-cum-roundabout at the lobby entrance which features “pangolin scales” that are handcut by Italian stonecutters. The pangolin sculpture is a tribute to this endangered South East Asian species.
To top this off, all homeowners will have a piece of art in their own home. In the apartments, their art takes the form of bespoke Lucerna stone wall installations at the private lift lobbies and entrance doors with oak facets that have been painstakingly crafted and sanded by hand, then stained to create a unique patterned design. “The facets are actually stained by a walnut dye and left to dry to get a dark pigment – and it can be a tedious process, however it is fulfilling to be able to create 64 personalised entrance doors”, said Anna Hiscock, who has been working closely with SDB for the past 10 years.
