Razer is pleased to announce that the launch of Razer Pay in Malaysia has received a resounding response.
Within 48 hours from the launch of Razer Pay on 4 July, over 300,000 users in Malaysia downloaded and signed up for the Razer e-wallet app designed for youth and millennials.
This could be a speed record for e-wallet adoption in the region.
Also, within the same 48 hours, over 11,000 transactions were made by first-time Razer Pay users at Berjaya Group stores, generating over RM110,000 worth of donations to the Tabung Harapan Fund by the Berjaya Group.
“Razer Pay launched globally in Kuala Lumpur and we are heartened by the incredible response from users.
“We will continue bringing more services and improvements to the app, and we thank users in Malaysia for their confidence in Razer,” said Min-Liang Tan, co-founder and chief executive officer of Razer Inc.
Meanwhile, as a partner to Razer Pay, Berjaya Corporation Berhad has pledged to donate up to RM5 million to the national Tabung Harapan Malaysia fund.
From July 4 to August 30, Berjaya has committed to donating RM10 with each first use of the Razer Pay wallet at participating Berjaya outlets, subject to terms and conditions.
To celebrate the launch of Razer Pay, every new user in Malaysia will receive RM10 bonus credits when they sign up in the Razer Pay app from July 4 to September 30.
One2Pay is the e-wallet application launched by MOL Inc. in 2017 and as MOL Inc. was acquired by Razer in May, existing users of the One2Pay application will have their application automatically upgraded to Razer Pay through the iOS App Store or Google Play Store updates.
