This noble act of philanthropy and believe in the development of the family business community is hoped to lead towards the advocating of more philanthropic activities and importance of legacy planning among family businesses and society at large, not just in Malaysia but throughout the Nusantara region.
Dr. Mohar Yusof, a professor of entrepreneurship and family business at the Graduate School of Business has been appointed the Siti Maya Professor of Family Business at Universiti Tun Abdul Razak.
Professor Mohar, the Grand Winner, Outstanding Entrepreneurship Mentor, Ministry of Education Entrepreneurial Awards 2018 is also a scholarship award recipient from Waesche Family, Louisiana, USA, for the Family Firm Institute GEN program’s Certificate in Family Wealth Advising.
The Professorial Chair on Family Business is named after Dato’ Ghazali’s mother and grandmother who had influenced and contributed to the establishment of the family business, Nusatek Group of Companies.
Nusatek is a leading player in testing, calibration and inspection services in Malaysia and has presence in several countries namely in Singapore, Brunei, the Philippines and others. It has built several laboratories equipped with high quality machines and tools to serve the needs of various industries namely rail and automotive, oil and gas, electrical and instrumentation, pharmaceutical and medical devices, and, others.
Professor Mohar shall capture and document the remarkable and tremendous achievements and journey of Dato’ Ghazali who is an entrepreneur, family business owner-manager, corporate professional, educationist, social activist, philanthropist, artist, an Honorary Doctorate in Law from the University of Nottingham, etc.
He said, “Knowing Dato’ Ghazali is a like a dream come true. He is so kind-hearted, a romantic and a visionary. He is so extraordinary and unconventional. He is truly a rare and incredible human being. There is so much to learn from him”.
