Sunway City Kuala Lumpur, 17 November 2020 – Sunway had recently launched its Sunway Little Sunshine Childcare Centre as an enhancement to Sunway’s family-friendly policies.

The 5,000-sq-ft childcare centre at Sunway GEO, available exclusively for Sunway employees, will take in infants from two months old to three-year-old toddlers.

At the childcare centre’s launch, Sunway chief human resources officer Foo Shiang Wyne said Sunway started enhancing its family-friendly policies in 2013 with childcare subsidies for working parents in Sunway at REAL Kids Sunway, The Parenthood in 2016 and this year, its employees’ benefits are further enhanced with the introduction of Sunway’s own childcare centre.

“Sunway Little Sunshine Childcare Centre was conceptualised because of a rising need for childcare services among our employees. In fact, in 2019 we carried out a group-wide survey to understand our employees’ needs, and one of the key takeaways from the results showed more than 70% of the surveyed employees need childcare services.

“We have invested significant time, effort and money to set up this centre. Sunway employees wishing to send their children to this centre only pay a subsidised fee from RM700 per month,” Foo added.

This initiative is in addition to the existing maternal, extended maternal and paternal leaves available for Sunway employees.

Sunway also provides support for expecting and lactating mothers such as designated parking spaces, escort assistance by security officers and mothers’ rooms for working Sunway mothers as well as visitors’ convenience. Children and spouses of Sunway employees will benefit from the employees’ medical care too.

Sunway Little Sunshine Childcare Centre strives to nurture and integrate children’s needs, interests, abilities and focus to prepare them for a lifelong learning.

Registration is open to all Sunway employees with babies aged two months to toddlers aged three.

The childcare centre accepts new enrollment applications throughout the year on a first-come-first-served basis, depending on the availability by age group.

The centre is safeguarded by an extensive network of CCTVs and a security guard is posted outside the centre at all times.

Access to the nursery is limited to a single point of entry and exit as another safety measure.

To further ease parents’ minds, the centre subscribes to an all-in-one childcare software featuring attendance tracking, records of temperatures, daily lessons, parents’ communications and the registration of primary and secondary recipients for children’s pick-ups, among others.

Children’s temperatures are checked three times a day and their hands regularly sanitised. Other regular hygiene checks include those on their hands, feet and mouths.

For greater cleanliness, the centre is maintained using an organic, non-chemical and child-friendly solution.

Sunway Little Sunshine Childcare Centre is open from 7.30am to 7pm, Mondays to Fridays except public holidays.
