Brian explained, “Our local pop-up bazaars used to be my way of discovering and supporting all these interesting, high-quality products from small brands and businesses.”

With Poptron, all these microbrands are located in one place making it easy for lovers of high quality, lifestyle products to discover and explore these beloved brands,” he added.

Poptron - a portmanteau of the words POP-ups, TRust and ONline - was launched in September 2020 featuring a curated list of local microbrands, all of which were carefully selected by the Poptron team. The platform recently received funding of USD1 million and will be expanding their operations globally, beginning with Singapore, Philippines and Indonesia this year, apart from recently enhancing the customer experience on their website. The platform now provides a clean, intuitive interface showcasing Popular & Latest Products, Editor’s Picks and On Sale, featured stores for easy product search and discovery along with fetching product images. For onboarded brands, free essential e-commerce tools are also provided to self-manage products, inventory, orders and fulfilment.
