Kuala Lumpur, 4 November 2021 – Zurich Malaysia announced today that Nazrul Hisham Abd Hamid has been appointed chief executive officer (CEO) of Zurich Takaful Malaysia Berhad (Zurich Takaful) effective immediately.
Nazrul was the CEO of Zurich General Takaful Malaysia Berhad (Zurich General Takaful) prior to his new role in Zurich Takaful. He succeeds Mukesh Dhawan who has recently stepped down; his replacement for the general takaful business will be announced in due time.
Reporting to Zurich Malaysia Country Head Junior Cho, Nazrul’s new responsibilities include leading strategic priorities to grow and strengthen Zurich’s family takaful business. He is well-versed in this line of business with more than 25 years of experience, of which over a decade was dedicated to the takaful industry covering both family and general takaful sales and operations.
Cho remarked, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mukesh for his commitment and contribution to building the life insurance and family takaful businesses since he joined Zurich Malaysia in January 2015. He has invested considerable efforts to launch unique customer propositions, robust distribution channels, and strategic partnerships over the past six years. We wish him the best in his journey.”
