Kuala Lumpur, 13 January 2022 - By choice or by force, many people have started to reevaluate their career paths in the past 2 years. In October 2021, the Department of Statistics Malaysia reported that the unemployment rate remains higher than it was pre-pandemic at 4.3%. With a saturated job market, the colossal task of building a career in a new field without any prior experience becomes even more daunting.
Hiredly is kickstarting the new year with great news for these job seekers who are looking to change career paths. The newly rebranded job discovery platform formerly known as WOBB has launched a campaign called #ZeroHero featuring jobs that are open to hiring candidates with zero working experience.
Throughout the pandemic period, Hiredly has received countless enquiries from job seekers who are looking to switch careers. Whether it is a recent graduate who wants to branch out from something they studied throughout their academic years or a senior professional who has been in the same career path for years and is considering a career change.
“Learning a new skill or starting over isn’t the hardest part of a career switch.” “Finding that first employer who is willing to give your first shot despite the lack of experience is arguably the most difficult step for these job seekers,” said Derek Toh, CEO and Founder of Hiredly.
"We'd like to encourage more employers to join us in giving these job seekers a chance, and we'll incentivize employers who truly mean it when they say they require no experience," added Toh. Throughout the campaign period, participating employers and their jobs will be prominently highlighted through Hiredly’s promotional efforts.
All job seekers with an approved Hiredly account are eligible to apply for these #ZeroHero positions. The campaign will run from January 11 to February 28, 2022. Along with the rebrand in July 2021, the company stated that they hope to continue to be the easiest place for professional job seekers and employers to connect with one another.
