Kuala Lumpur, 07 February 2022 - Local engineering tech company Singularity Aerotech Asia (SAT.Asia) has recently announced a strategic collaboration with French tech corporation, Ubudu, resulting in two new products added to its SM4RT TRACE suite of solutions. These solutions are the Social Distancing Assistant+ (SDA+) and Real-Time Location System (RTLS), in addition to the SDA solution launched in mid-2021.
With the Omicron variant of COVID-19 emerging as the latest threat to public health and safety, it is a reminder that the fight against the pandemic is ongoing and that vigilance, patience and discipline are required to ensure Malaysia is able to experience normalcy once more. As premises such as factories are now operational, it is important for these production facilities to adhere to the necessary guidelines set by the Malaysian government to continue operations, ensuring minimal disruption.

Social Distancing Assistant + (SDA+)
A new and improved version of the original SDA used primarily for real time social distancing alerts and high precision contact tracing reports, the SDA+ comes with a few extra features and different modes of deployment. The new features include zone-based risk monitoring, Occupational Safety and Health Act (OHSA) functionalities and dynamic and data-based SOP. These additional features will help employers recognize emerging patterns and assess risk through a better understanding of close contact behaviour and the areas in which they occur; influencing better decision-making at a larger scale. For seamless continuation of asset tracking beyond the endemic stage, current users of SDA are able to easily transition to SDA+ and RTLS with simple upgrades to their existing technology setup.
The SDA+ solution is deployed through the same discreet, wearable SDA tags in conjunction with existing or similar networking infrastructure such as gateways, BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) Beacons and bidirectional antennas. It is meant to cater to multi-zone large offices and factories, helping them ensure social distancing SOP while still catering to pre-pandemic realities such as employee attendance and emergency evacuation tracking, all while using the same technology setup.
Real-Time Location System (RTLS)
Meanwhile, the RTLS is seen as a major upgrade from both SDA and the SDA+ solutions, and is meant to provide more granular data when it comes to movements. Some of its features include high precision geofenced tracking with real-time information and movement analytics, allowing for enhanced workflow monitoring as well as object tracking.
These can be deployed in the form of repurposed SDA tags, trackers, smart anchors, and even beacons. This is featured as the solution for larger premises such as warehouses and large factories looking to implement IR4.0 technology to ensure peace of mind with regards to the potential spread of COVID-19. In the post endemic phase of COVID-19, the RTLS solution may be repurposed to identify bottlenecks and improve workflows by analysing the movement of assets, thereby improving overall asset utilisation rates and productivity.
