Kuala Lumpur, 8 April 2022 - Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad (“Alliance Bank” or the “Bank”)’s financial literacy initiative, the AEIOU Education Step-Up Programme, recently provided school supplies worth RM115,000 to 1,000 students in eight schools in Selangor.

The Bank collaborated with its long-time AEIOU programme partner A.W Faber-Castell Malaysia to distribute school supplies such as school bags and stationery items to schoolchildren in disadvantaged communities in Subang Jaya, Shah Alam and Klang. 

According to En. Rizal IL-Ehzan Fadil Azim, Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Islamic Bank, “At Alliance Bank, our purpose is to improve lives, and we do this best when we have the right partners to bring about positive change. Our AEIOU Education Step-Up Programme was a success thanks to the support of dedicated schoolteachers and our long-standing close working relationship with A.W Faber-Castell. We hope that our contribution helps to lighten the back-to-school expense for parents and motivate schoolchildren to focus on their studies.”

The AEIOU Education Step-Up Programme is an extension of the Bank’s AEIOU financial literacy initiative, which aims to educate schoolchildren aged 9 to 12 on smart money management. 

Supported by Bank Negara Malaysia, the AEIOU programme comprises three components: financial literacy programme, comic challenge and e-Game challenge. Last year, the AEIOU Comic Challenge and e-Game Challenge drew over 58,000 entries from schoolchildren between the ages of 9 and 12 years from all over Malaysia.
