KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 10 (Bernama) -- UMW Grantt International Sdn. Bhd. (“UMW Grantt”), a wholly owned subsidiary of the UMW Group, and the producer of Grantt Lubricants, today introduced its biodegradable multi-purpose food grade grease, expanding its offering in the green product line-up. The Grantt Multi-purpose Food Grade Grease was launched by YB Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change at the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia (“IGEM”) 2023, Southeast Asia’s largest trade event for green technologies and eco solutions, at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
UMW Grantt together with UMW Innovation and R&D Centre Sdn. Bhd. collaborated with Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al Sultan Abdullah (“UMPSA”) and MNR Multitech Sdn. Bhd. to develop the first biodegradable multi-purpose food grade grease to be commercialised in Malaysia. The Grantt Multi-purpose Food Grade Grease is distributed in a 400-gram packaging and competitively priced.
The Grantt Multi-purpose Food Grade Grease is formulated with proprietary food-grade additives, environment-friendly green-based oil and thickening agent with excellent heat reversion characteristics. It is a biodegradable non-toxic grease specially made for universal greasing application especially for use in industries where there is a risk of contact with food. These industries include food and beverage, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, meat, poultry and feed, dairy products, agriculture and food packaging.
The Grantt Multi-purpose Food Grade Grease meets the various international standards such as DIN 51825, OECD 301B as well as OECD 201, 202 and 203. The product had also obtained the MyHijau certification, which is an official green recognition scheme endorsed by the Government of Malaysia. It is also accorded with the Good Manufacturing Practice certification.
