By Azlan Zainal Abidin, CEO of Awantec "We are thrilled with Google's US$2 billion investment in Malaysia, marking a significant step towards the country's digital transformation. As an authorised Google Cloud partner, we at Awantec are excited to bring advanced AI solutions to our customers. This investment will enhance Google’s services and empower Malaysian enterprises, startups, and public sector organisations to innovate and grow.
Google's investment aligns with Malaysia's 'Cloud First Policy' and the New Industrial Master Plan 2030, fostering a robust talent ecosystem and enhancing digital skills through initiatives like the Gemini Academy and Experience AI programs. This supports Awantec's strategic goals, where we are currently already providing Google solutions to customers especially to the Government of Malaysia and the Ministry of Education.
Google’s commitment to fostering AI literacy through programs like Gemini Academy and Experience AI is crucial for preparing educators and students for the future. These initiatives align with the Ministry of Education’s National Digital Education Policy, making digital skills more accessible across Malaysia.
Since November 2023, the Gemini Academy has benefitted over 600 educators, with plans to expand to 15,000 by the end of 2024. Experience AI aims to train 1,000 educators, reaching 10,000 students nationwide. Awantec is particularly excited about this as the Authorised Training Partner for Google Cloud.
Recently, Awantec showcased our cloud solutions at the DCCI 2024 Summit, discussing the latest advancements in data center technology and cloud infrastructure. We have also earned the Gemini for Google Workspace Partner Ambassador Status, providing clients particularly in the education, healthcare and public sectors with expert guidance, enhanced workflows, and future-proof solutions.
As we continue delivering AI-powered solutions, we look forward to supporting our clients in leveraging Google’s technologies, driving economic growth, attracting investments, and positioning Malaysia as a global digital economy leader.”
