AIMS Named as First Corporate Buyer
Cyberjaya, 23 June 2025 – TIME dotCom’s renewable energy business, Time Energy Sdn Bhd, today announced Malaysia’s first community solar initiative for data centres, with AIMS Group (AIMS) named as the first anchor customer via the Community Renewable Energy Aggregation Mechanism (CREAM).
This initiative unlocks residential rooftop solar potential to meet the ever-rising clean energy demand of data centres.
(From left): Arjun Arasu, CEO of Time Energy; Mr. Anuar Zaki bin Bakar, Under Secretary of the Electricity Supply Division of PETRA; and Chiew Kok Hin, CEO of AIMS, at the collaboration event in Cyberjaya.
CREAM enables most households – including those with lower electricity usage – to participate in the country’s renewable energy journey. By generating solar energy for corporate buyers, households contribute to a cleaner energy mix and earn extra income.
“CREAM opens the door for any home to generate and sell clean energy to corporations”, said Arjun Arasu, CEO of Time Energy. “We look forward to bringing solar to more homes, so more people can be involved in helping Malaysia achieve its renewable energy goals.”
Under this initiative:
“As a high energy consumer, we’re committed to decarbonising our data centres by incorporating more renewables” said Chiew Kok Hin, CEO of AIMS. “CREAM gives us a new way to source clean energy while supporting community participation in the net zero journey and strengthening our ESG commitments.”
“We’re proud of AIMS for becoming Malaysia’s first data centre to tap into community-generated solar as part of its renewable energy strategy, and we look forward to helping more organisations participate in CREAM,” Arjun concluded.
Time Energy and AIMS have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for an initial small-scale deployment, signed in the presence of Mr. Anuar Zaki bin Bakar, Under Secretary of the Electricity Supply Division from the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), representing the Secretary-General of PETRA.

On June 1st, at Elektronik Keck Seng Sdn Bhd in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, Hisense officially unveiled the country's first-ever Laser TV experience store.
In recent years, with consumer upgrades and shifting aesthetic preferences, Malaysian customers have gradually moved away from the traditional logic of "big, cheap, and watchable" televisions. Instead, they now expect TVs to become essential components of home entertainment and social spaces. Laser TVs have emerged as a representative product of this new trend.
Jin Zihui, a representative of Hisense Malaysia, emphasized that a Laser TV is not merely a television—it is a comprehensive solution that offers immersive viewing, eye protection, and a refined spatial aesthetic. For a long time, due to the lack of real-life demonstration environments, laser TVs in Malaysia remained a product that consumers had only “heard good things about.” This time, however, growing interest and demand from users pushed Hisense to fast-track the launch of its flagship Laser TV store.
Unlike traditional home appliance retail outlets, Hisense’s first Laser TV experience store in Johor Bahru, Johor, is a brand-new format centered around laser display technology. It offers consumers an immersive experience and a glimpse into future lifestyle possibilities.
Jiang Xuejiao, Deputy General Manager of Hisense Visual Technology Asia-Pacific Marketing Center, explained the unique value of Hisense Laser TVs to dealers, consumers, and local influencers:
Immersive Experience: Hisense Laser TVs are typically equipped with large screens starting from 80 inches, scaling up to 120 inches or even larger. They feature ultra-short throw projection, meaning they can deliver a theater-grade experience without occupying much space—bringing a true “giant screen” into the living room.
Vibrant Color Accuracy: Compared to LED or single-color laser displays, tri-color laser technology offers much more accurate RGB (Red-Green-Blue) reproduction. Its color gamut far exceeds that of standard LCD TVs, delivering richer and more lifelike images.
Eye Comfort and Health: Unlike LCD TVs that emit direct light, Laser TVs project light onto a screen which then reflects into the viewer’s eyes—closer to natural light and reducing harmful blue light exposure. This makes Laser TVs more eye-friendly, especially for children or prolonged viewing sessions.
Hisense’s Laser TVs also feature a slim, integrated design, smarter functionality, nearly invisible screens, and seamless blending with modern home interiors—all contributing to a more immersive and sophisticated entertainment experience.
Rather than competing on low price, Hisense aims to win customers through real value—offering high-definition visuals, large screen formats, eye protection, and blue-light-free viewing. On launch day, everyone from content creators and tech bloggers to regular family users showed great interest in this product that “looks like a TV but is far more than a TV.”

Taiwan Expo’s 8th Outing to Malaysia
AI and Healthcare lead the way in Showcasing Taiwan’s Smart Innovations
Taiwan Expo 2025 in Malaysia is part of the flagship global exhibition platform designed to showcase the best of Taiwan innovation and manufacturing capabilities and officially kicks off today (23rd of June) at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). Organized by the International Trade Administration and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the expo brings together over 200 leading Taiwanese companies and runs until 25 June. This year’s event is the largest yet and the five main themes of the exhibition echoes the industrial trends in Malaysia, including smart manufacturing, health and wellness, sustainability, as well as culture and tourism.
AI applications fuel innovation boom
This year’s event marks the 8th outing for Taiwan Expo in Malaysia and AI innovation is the biggest highlight of the event. A total of 32 leading AI firms from Taiwan are showcasing their range of products and solutions including smart manufacturing, medical technologies, cybersecurity, finance, and education services. Key exhibits include Phison’s latest AI driven data storage technology; mechanical skin that mimics the human touch response by Touché Solutions; V5med and DeepXray’s AI-assisted lung cancer and osteoporosis screening systems; as well as AI-driven cybersecurity and education solutions from ThinkCloud and NUWA Robotics — among many other innovative highlights. A special guided tour service by the Collibot Robot will also be available and visitors can experience real-life applications of Taiwan’s AI technology.
In addition to the various AI showcases, many Taiwanese companies which are renowned globally for their environmental protection solutions will also be displaying their products, including energy-saving insulation films, smart water tower management systems, energy-saving air conditioning systems and photon energy harvesters.
The smart living and lifestyle products sections showcase everything from wearable devices to innovative household products to smart lighting solutions. The range of thoughtful products highlight the innovative powers behind Taiwan’s push to integrate design and technology into improving the quality of life. New for this year is the Taiwan Select Food Culture Pavilion that features many high-quality halal certified food products, Clean Label products and international flavour competition winners which are paired with traditional tea ceremonies to showcase Taiwanese food culture and lifestyle aesthetics.
Bilateral trade growth shows complementary industrial advantages
The opening ceremony was hosted by Simon Wang, President & CEO of TAITRA, and kicked off with a high energy 24-festive drum performance that symbolises the cultural integration and enthusiasm for the growing cooperation between Malaysia and Taiwan. Many VIPs graced the opening ceremony, including Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia Ms. Phoebe Yeh; Selangor State Government EXCO of Investment, Trade, and Mobility YB Tuan Ng Sze Han; MATRADE China & Northeast Asia Section Director Mr. Mazlan Harun; Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing (FMM) President Tan Sri Soh Thian Lai; and more. This year’s Taiwan Expo has received the support from 26 Malaysian industry associations and groups which indicates the great importance local industry players attach to the event.
Taiwan plays a pivotal role in the global supply chain for semiconductors, information and communication technologies, as well as smart manufacturing. Taiwan’s technical expertise is recognized by the international community and would synergize perfectly with Malaysia’s role as an important manufacturing and export hub in Asia. According to statistics, bilateral trade between Malaysia and Taiwan reached USD 39.1 billion in 2024 which cemented Taiwan’s position as Malaysia’s fourth largest trading partner. Bilateral trade grew by 36.8% in the first five months of 2025 compared to the same period last year.
YBhg Tan Sri Dato' Soh Thian Lai remarked that the exhibition has many forward-looking contents that the local industry should find interesting and the focus of Taiwan Expo is highly in-sync with the development direction of Malaysia’s manufacturing industry and serves as an important platform for promoting technological exchanges and industrial advancements.
Come for the diverse interactions and win air tickets
In addition to the amazing display of products, the 3-day exhibition also offers numerous product launches, business matchmaking, and product sampling. Visitors and business participants can win round-trip tickets between Kuala Lumpur and Taipei sponsored by China Airlines, EVA Air and Starlux Airlines!

ELBA EXPANDS ITS HOME SOLUTION LINEUP WITH A NEW RANGE OF CLEANING PRODUCTS, UNVEILED AT THE ELBA DEALERS CONVENTION 2025
The trusted homegrown brand debuts its most extensive line-up to date, introducing breakthrough innovations in laundry, vacuuming, floor washing, and kitchen care.
ELBA, Malaysia’s trusted household name for home appliances, marked a pivotal milestone at the ELBA Dealers Convention 2025 with the unveiling of its most extensive range of home cleaning solutions to date. At the heart of this expanded line-up are innovations in three essential categories – washing machines, vacuum cleaners, and dishwashers – for the purpose of simplifying daily cleaning for modern households. Together with enhancements across its kitchen range, ELBA continues its mission of fulfilling total home solutions with practical innovation that meets real-life needs.
The ELBA Dealer Convention 2025 represents more than just new products; it signals ELBA’s strategic expansion into a complete home solutions ecosystem. Building on trust as No. 1 Cooker Hoods brand in Malaysia*, ELBA demonstrated how its expertise now extends across every corner of the home – from major kitchen appliances such as cooker hoods, built-in ovens and hobs, to everyday essentials including rice cookers, hair dryers, water heaters, fans, etc.
“ELBA Dealer Convention 2025 represents a defining moment in our brand’s journey,” said Mr. Tok Sang Man, Managing Director of ELBA Malaysia.
“With nearly five decades in Malaysia, we’ve built our reputation on unwavering quality and reliability. Today’s event reaffirms our commitment to innovation while staying true to what Malaysian families need – practical solutions that feel familiar, yet refreshingly modern.”
The convention spotlighted ELBA’s expanded laundry care line-up, featuring three distinct series engineered to meet the diverse needs of Malaysian households. The Queluxe Series front-loading washer-dryers, innovated with PerfectDose automatic detergent dispensing, a clever SpaceSaver design that maximises capacity in compact frames, and a comprehensive Drum Clean+ self-cleaning function that ensures long-term hygiene.
The LavaWave Series front-loading washers impressed with Silent DD Inverter technology for whisper-quiet operation, an enhanced UltraMax Door design for effortless loading, and Lava Steam functionality that provides deep-cleaning performance by removing bacteria, allergens, and wrinkles, keeping clothes fresh and healthy after every wash.
For those who prefer top-loading models, the Elysian Series top-loading washer showcased Ultra Stain Wash technology that intelligently adjusts water speed to suit specific garment needs, Silent DD Inverter operation for peaceful homes, and Drum Hygiene self-cleaning functionality for consistently fresher results.
Expanding into a new category, ELBA’s latest floor care innovations captured attention with their practicality and performance. The AIRGlide Series cordless stick vacuum features advanced Dust Seal Filtration Technology, paired with a generous 3.0L Insta Clean Hub to seal and transfer debris to the auto clean station without exposure to the environment. Its Motorised Power Brush adapts seamlessly across floor surfaces, including tiles and timber, which is common in Malaysian homes.
Complementing this innovation, the HYDRO Cleanse Series floor washer also impressed convention attendees with its extra-large dual water tank system, precision 3-edge cleaning brush for challenging corners, and advanced 360° self-cleaning system. The standout Therma Jet 60°C hot air drying ensures it remains hygienically clean and ready for next use.
Completing the Convention showcase, ELBA’s three new dishwashers that are perfect for freestanding, built-in and tabletop settings demonstrate the brand’s commitment to elevating kitchen efficiency. These models feature revolutionary AutoDoor Technology to release hot air before the cleaning cycle is complete, AquaBeam UV sterilisation for maximum hygiene, and Fresh Air Storage capability, maintaining tableware cleanliness and freshness for up to 168 hours.
“Building on the success of ELBA Dealer Convention 2023, we’ve completed our cooking and cooling range—and this year, we’re proud to expand into the cleaning category. It’s another step toward our vision of delivering a complete home solution for every Malaysian household,” said Mr Tok Sang Man. “For decades, ELBA has supported Malaysian families – from daily meals to festive moments and everyday chores. More than just appliances, we’re proud to be at the heart of every Malaysian home,” concluded Mr. Tok Sang Man.
As the curtain falls on the ELBA Dealer Convention 2025, the brand’s vision becomes clear: empowering Malaysian households with thoughtfully engineered, affordably accessible, and built-to-last solutions. This landmark event not only reinforces ELBA’s trusted home partner status but also represents ELBA’s promise to shape the everyday experiences of Malaysia’s next generation of families.
The new range of ELBA household solutions will be available in stores from July 2025 onwards at ELBA authorised dealer retail stores nationwide. KUALA LUMPUR, June 17 (Bernama) -- The inaugural Energy Asia Awards themed ‘Delivering Asia’s Energy Transition’, honoured two outstanding changemakers for their contributions in delivering transformative impact across Asia’s energy landscape and accelerating the region’s shift towards a low-carbon, inclusive, and sustainable future.
Held in conjunction with Energy Asia by PETRONAS, the awards recognise individuals and organisations creating innovative solutions that address Asia’s rising energy demand, tackle emissions challenges, and drive urgent systemic change while safeguarding vulnerable communities.
This first edition of the awards drew over 150 submissions from 20 countries, reflecting a diverse range of purpose-driven and scalable projects across industries.
Each entry underwent a rigorous multi-stage evaluation conducted by a distinguished panel of industry leaders, sustainability champions, and technical experts. Submissions were assessed on innovation, impact, sustainability, and scalability, with transparency and excellence at the core of the judging process.
Following comprehensive reviews and a final pitch session with six shortlisted finalists, the judges selected two trailblazing initiatives:
The Eureka Award - recognising technological innovation that advances measurable decarbonisation and environmental goals - was awarded to Pos Malaysia for its Greening the Last Mile: Pos Malaysia’s Sustainability Transformation.
The ambitious initiative seeks to halve emissions by 2030 and achieve net zero by 2050 through a data-driven, sustainable logistics ecosystem that integrates decarbonisation, community upliftment, and workforce empowerment.
The Trailblazer Award – celebrating inclusive solutions that drive social equity and empower communities through the energy transition – was presented to Pertamina for Desa Energi Berdikari (Energy-Independent Village) project.
This visionary project promotes decentralised clean energy solutions that tackle waste, energy consumption, and CO₂ emissions, while supporting rural electrification and inclusive, sustainable development across Indonesia’s villages. These projects demonstrate the real, tangible solutions being forged across borders to deliver lower-carbon, affordable and accessible energy for all.
Winners of the Energy Asia Awards exemplify the spirit of innovation and collaboration that is vital to delivering a just and inclusive energy transition. Their commitment to responsible and sustainable practices sets a powerful benchmark for the industry, with far-reaching impact on the region and communities.
The awards will continue to be a central feature of the Conference, reinforcing the commitment to championing practical, scalable solutions that accelerate Asia’s transition while ensuring energy security and equitable growth.
