Sunway ILabs Super Accelerator Names 23 Start-ups in Third Cohort

Sunway City Kuala Lumpur, 7 July 2021 Sunway Innovation Labs (Sunway iLabs) together with Pan-Asian venture capital firm Gobi Partners, today kicked off the 2021 Sunway iLabs Super Accelerator programme pre-accelerator phase. A total of 23 start-ups have been selected to take part in the one-month pre-accelerator, which will end in a pitching event with Sunway. 

Sunway iLabs’ Super Accelerator programme’s third cohort for start-ups seeking to deliver innovative solutions focusing on six key verticals – Smart Cities, Agrifoodtech, Edutech, Digital Health, eCommerce, and Fintech – received 115 applications from a number of countries. The start-ups were shortlisted based on three key criteria: growth potential, a market ready product, and synergies with Sunway Group.

Grab and Microsoft Partner to Upskill Malaysian Driver and Delivery Partners

Malaysia, 7 July 2021: Grab and Microsoft announce their partnership in Malaysia with training and development programmes designed to empower driver- and delivery-partners with digital skills.  Introduced in February 2021, the training programmes leverages the expertise of both Grab and Microsoft to deliver tailored learning experiences for driver- and delivery- partners – regardless of their digital literacy levels - with a goal of boosting partner employability beyond platform work.

The training is available through GrabBenefits, a programme for Grab partners designed to maintain and improve their wellbeing. Partners can access the training program through GrabAcademy in the Grab partner app. The initiative will benefit more than 10,000 driver- and delivery-partners in Malaysia by the end of 2021 and has already reached 70% of the year’s participation target in just three months
