Shortfalls in talent and direction, and a general lack of awareness about the profound industrial revolution underway worldwide are the top concerns of senior business and government executives assessing Malaysia’s readiness for “Industry 4.0” — the automation and digitization of industrial processes through robotics and other emerging technologies.
The survey, including recommendations was released by Malaysia’s Global Science and Innovation Advisory Council (GSIAC), meeting today in Kuala Lumpur.
CIMB Foundation (the Foundation) launched CIMB MOZEK, a holiday camp in collaboration with Teach For Malaysia (TFM), to promote integration and unity among school children. The New Entrepreneurs Foundation (myNEF) reveals eighty-nine finalists that will be competing at the ASEAN Rice Bowl Startup Awards (Rice Bowl) finale in Kuala Lumpur on 13 December 2017. The shortlisted regional startups will have a chance to represent Southeast Asia at the upcoming Global Startup Awards next year.
Organized by myNEF, the ASEAN Rice Bowl Startup Awards celebrates the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship in the Southeast Asian startup ecosystem. The awards recognizes outstanding startups that provide home-grown and sustainable solutions for local issues with world class innovations, as well as having the potential to be scalable regionally. The award ceremony is held in conjunction with the Global Entrepreneurship Community (GEC) Summit on December 12 and 13, 2017.
The ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Network (AWEN) and Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC) has launched ASEAN 10x10 program. The event also witnessed the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to mark the partnership between both parties. This concerted effort was strategically curated to create exponential businesses through open innovation between SMEs and startup companies at the ASEAN level.
ASEAN 10x10 program will be the official inauguration of the SMEs and startups network. This collaborative effort will be led by AWEN Malaysia. The launch was witnessed by CEO of MaGIC; Ashran Dato’ Ghazi, Executive Director of Finance MaGIC; Amiruddin Abdul Shukor, Chairperson of AWEN ASEAN; Pacita Juan, Co-Chair of AWEN ASEAN; Maria Aurora Geotina Garcia, and Head of AWEN Malaysia; Nadira Mohd Yusoff.
